Chapter 78
Cynthia did not even bother to acknowledge him. She planned to eat the pasta but discovered that they had
clumped together. After stirring them a couple of times, she decided not to eat them at all.
Joshua could not stand being ignored, especially since they were the only two in the living room
“I’m talking to you,” he said.
“I heard you,” Cynthia replied flatly.
“You heard me, and you’re not going to answer?”
“Just because a dog barks at me doesn’t mean I have to bark back. If you want to talk, that’s your business. I don’t
have to answer,” Cynthia retorted playfully.
Joshua ground his teeth in frustration.
This woman had just called him a dog!
“You can leave. If you pull any more stunts before we divorce, I won’t be this forgiving,” Joshua said, afraid that he

“Do you have a mistaken impression of yourself?” Cynthia felt the need to correct his self–righteousness. “I’m the
one being framed, while you’re the one causing trouble. Are you sure you’re being forgiving and not ruthless?”
He really did not know the meaning of being forgiving.
What a conceited man.
Joshua’s expression turned cold. “If you didn’t do those things, I wouldn’t have accused you.”
Cynthia took out the remaining 15 USD she had on her and slapped it on his body.
Joshua looked confused. “What’s this for?”
“Go to the hospital and get your head checked. I’ll pay for it,” Cynthia said, feeling like it was a waste of breath to
talk to him any longer.
After saying that, she went upstairs to grab her phone and left the villa hurriedly, leaving the angry Joshua behind.
Once out of the villa, Cynthia hailed a taxi and headed back home. When she had been researching the real culprit
behind Jayleen’s car accident, she had just compiled and loaded the data without actually looking at it. Thus, she
wanted to take a closer look to see who was putting in so much effort to involve her in this.
As Cynthia planned to do that, Mitchell called.
The moment the call connected, Mitchell’s pleasant voice came through the phone.
“You’re really back?”
Cynthia knew what he was talking about and said, “Not really. I just had to handle a tricky situation and went to
check it out.”
“Because of Joshua.”
“Mmhmm.”
“Do you have plans tonight?”
“No.”
“Let’s meet and talk about something”
“Okay.”
Their conversations were always simple and direct, with almost no small talk.

She replied, [Okay.]
Then, she turned off her phone.
That evening, at a bar.
Cynthia wore a black and white outfit and went to the private dining room where Mitchell awaited her. He was still
all smiles, and the gold–rimmed glasses on his face made him look elegant.
Seeing Cynthia, he greeted her, “You’re here.”
“Mmhmm.”
“I have something to show you.” Mitchell took out a stack of photos from his inner coat pocket and placed them in
front of her, exuding an elegant and refined demeanor. “These photos are all real. Take a look first.”
Cynthia picked up the stack of photos and looked through them one by one, realizing that they were all candid shots
of Jayleen with another man.
Some were intimate photos of the two kissings, some were photos of them being really close at a dinner party, and
there were also some photos of their daily lives.
