“No, you misunderstood,” Cynthia attempted to explain, but she did not have a chance to

give the reason as Shirley interrupted her throughout.

Shirley, unaware of Cynthia’s previous incident on Queneska Island or Joshua’s near-death

experience saving her, said with determination, “Whether I misunderstand or not doesn’t

matter. What matters is getting him out of here. I’ll go talk to him.”

Then, she opened the door and stormed out, full of anger.

“Shirley!”
