Jimmy was utterly shocked.

Riley drank to hide her emotions too.

What on earth was happening?

“Do you like Cyn? Mitchell decided to address the matter directly.

“I do,” Joshua admitted, “Even though she rejected me before, I’ll keep liking her. She’s

the person I want to protect for the rest of my life,”

Cynthia knew Joshua was doing this intentionally, but she could not say anything about it.

“Well, it’s obviously too late for you!” Riley casually retorted.

Joshua looked at her.

The stunningly beautiful Riley wanted to help Matthew confess, so she suggested, “Let’s

continue the game. This time, we’ll be playing Truth or Dare. Those who can’t fulfill the

Jimmy shuffled the cards in front of everyone, then dealt them one by one, explaining the

rules, “The smallest cardholder can choose between answering a truth or performing a

dare, while the biggest cardholder can ask questions or dare the smallest

one.

“Let’s begin.”

In the first round, Matthew had the smallest card, the four of hearts, and Riley had the

biggest card, the Queen of clubs.

Matthew knew what they wanted to play, but he wanted to take things step by step and at

least lay some groundwork before confessing. With this in mind, he said, “Truth”

Upon hearing this, Cynthia immediately perked up. She had not forgotten Matthew said he

had someone he liked, so why did he ask her to pretend to be his girlfriend and

accompany him home for the New Year?

Cynthia wanted to know the answer, so she said, “Riley, ask Captain about the person he

likes.”

Riley gave her a thumbs up in response.

However, Riley already knew who Matthew liked. Hence, she asked, “You said you

confessed to the person you like jokingly. How did she react?”

Cynthia was confused about why Riley asked this question when she had already agreed

to hers.

“She thought I was joking. Matthew told the truth, ‘She didn’t take it seriously.“”

“Why didn’t you confess seriously?” Cynthia blurted out without realizing the implications

behind her question.

Riley, Jimmy, and others had a knowing look on their faces and pretended to agree.

“That’s right, Captain. Maybe if you confessed seriously, you’d already be in a relationship

with her.”

What’s her name?”

“Do we know her?”

“Where is she from?”

They bombarded him with questions, like interrogating a suspect.

Matthew smiled handsomely and raised an eyebrow playfully. “Do you really want to

know?”

“Yes,” Cynthia and others answered honestly.

“The first round has already ended,” Matthew said indifferently, “When you guys get the

biggest card, and I get the smallest, then I’ll answTE.

Cynthia was annoyed and glanced at Jimmy.
