Chapter 478
The pediatric ward exuded childlike charm, with bulletin boards, wall paintings, and even the patients’
clothing adorned in adorable cartoon patterns.
“Mommy!” Felix’s voice called out to Esther from a distance.
With her bodyguards at her side, Esther entered the hospital room. She carried packages of various
sizes. Lying on the bed, Felix had a happy expression on his face.
“Are you hungry, my darling?”
“Mommy, I’m hungry.”
Unsure if Felix was able to eat, Esther sent a message to Agatha.
Agatha replied: [He can have something light.]

“Okay!”
Esther scanned the QR code affixed to the bedside table and placed a food order for Felix. Considering
that the food was for patients, the options were quite bland.
“How about… banana oatmeal?”
“Okay,” Felix obediently agreed.
After ordering Felix’s oatmeal, Esther sat beside him, softly saying, “Son, Mommy loves you.”
“Mommy, I love you too, more than anything in the whole wide world.”
Esther’s heart warmed at his words. She gently ran her fingers through Felix’s hair with a bright smile.
“My son is the best!”
“Mommy, I’ll be fine in the hospital on my own. You can go find my sister.” Felix’s unexpected words
brought a faint pang of sadness to Esther’s heart.
“Son, you are just as important to Mommy.”
Felix replied childishly, “But Mommy, it’s not the same. I’m always in the hospital, most of the time
alone. I’m used to it-”
Before Felix could finish, Esther tightly hugged him, overwhelmed with guilt. “Felix, I’m sorry. Mommy
should have been by your side.”
Felix’s voice was sweet and pure. “Mommy, you didn’t lose me on purpose!”
“My son, you’re the best,” Esther replied, her eyes moistening once again.
The hospital cafeteria staff delivered Felix’s meal. Despite his desire to eat on his own, Esther insisted
on helping him by feeding him small bites.
“Mommy, I’m so happy.”

discharged, we’ll cook delicious food together again, okay?”
“Okay!”
Esther’s phone rang. Seeing an unfamiliar number, she suspected it might be Bradley and promptly
added it to her block list.
Then, her lawyer, Tanya Hill, messaged her on WhatsApp.
Tanya: [Everything is ready on my end. Are you prepared to go to court?]
Esther: [I’m ready.]
Tanya: [You remember the court date, right?]
Esther: [I know.]
Esther set her phone aside and gazed at Felix, whose head was wrapped in bandages. She selected
her words with utmost care before broaching the delicate topic. “Felix, darling. Mommy and Daddy are
getting a divorce. There might be a moment in court when the judge asks you whom you’d like to be
with…
