“Jasper, are we really leaving like this?” Kevin stared at Jasper in disbelief. Esther was now in Bradley’s hands.
Would she survive? Or, more accurately, would the ruthless Bradley spare Esther?
“What else can we do? Do you think you can find Esther if you search the place? Or do you plan to kneel in front of
Bradley and beg him to spare her?” Jasper’s words sounded like a defeated plea to Kevin.
“We can use detection devices to search every corner of Warner Manor. As long as we don’t give up…”
Jasper raised his head slightly, his tone filled with helplessness. “Then you go.”
Kevin rolled up his sleeves. “I will.”
Jasper left in his car, creating a cloud of dust as he drove away.
Kevin turned back toward Warner Manor.

you have something else to discuss?”
Kevin asked, “Where is Bradley?”
“He went upstairs to rest. Do you need me to call him for you?” she asked.
Kevin replied angrily, “No need. I’m more familiar with Warner Manor than you are.”
Kevin headed to Bradley’s bedroom and knocked politely but received no response. As such, he cautiously pushed
the door open and entered.
After a few steps, it was clear that Bradley was nowhere to be found. His study, bathroom, and dressing room were
all empty.
Kevin approached the bookshelf and felt that something was amiss upon seeing a discontinued classic. He reached
for the book.
“Kevin! What are you doing?”
Kevin turned abruptly to see Bradley standing at the door, puzzled. “Weren’t you in the bedroom?”
“Get to the point.” Bradley casually tossed his coat onto the sofa and walked past Kevin, heading into the bathroom.
“Bradley, if you’ve taken Esther, I implore you, release her,” Kevin pleaded.
Bradley’s white hair dampened as he washed his face, exuding a strangely melancholic beauty. “Kevin, if you have
the energy for this, I suggest you study medicine more.”
Kevin said through gritted teeth, “Bradley, I’m trying to save Esther’s life. Please don’t think I’m joking. Esther’s
condition is worse than you might think. You have to trust me. I won’t harm you, and I won’t exaggerate for her
sake.”

Kevin looked at Bradley’s reflection in the bathroom mirror, took a deep breath, and continued. “During this time,
I’ve been pondering why you’re treating Esther this way.
“Is it out of love or hatred? Later, I realized that Esther’s survival is the key to your emotions regardless of your
motives. If she dies, all your feelings will have no release.
“Of course, I hope all your actions are born from love.
“Because you love her, you can’t bear her leaving or accept her lack of affection.
“Because you love her, you want to keep her by your side.
“Bradley, if your actions are driven by love, then I suggest you see a psychologist.
“Because your behavior is pathological—it’s not love.
“If it’s because you hate Esther, you can harm, imprison, insult, and torment her. You can do whatever you want—
as long as you can face Felix and live with it from now on.”
Kevin turned and left without saying another word.
