Kevin inspected Bradley, who was nearly collapsing, and confirmed the need for a hospital visit. He directed people
to assist Bradley into a car and hurried to the hospital.
–
The doctor conducted a thorough examination of Bradley and determined he was suffering from gastric bleeding.
Turning to Kevin, the doctor asked, “Dr. Slade, what caused Mr. Warner’s health—”
“Treat him,” Kevin replied, his gaze fixed on Bradley lying in the hospital bed.
Without the timely warning from a maid, Bradley might have perished alone in his study, unnoticed.
The doctor conducted tests and initiated an IV drip for Bradley.
Kevin removed his coat and turned to Mandy, speaking gently. “Ms. Pendleton, could you stay and care for him?”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtMandy responded with a wry smile. “Dr. Slade, honestly, I don’t think Bradley will want to see me when he wakes
up.”
“In that case, could you help me get a change of clothes for Bradley?”
Mandy considered for a moment and agreed. “I’ll have the service staff prepare the clothes and pick them up from
Warner Manor.”
“Thank you.”
Not long after Mandy left, Bradley regained consciousness.
“You’re awake?” Kevin looked at the disheveled man before him, his voice laced with sarcasm. “I was just at Warner
Manor and noticed you’ve put up all of Esther’s pictures. What’s going on? The CEO neglecting his work and trying
to communicate with the deceased?”
“Kevin!” Bradley gritted his teeth.
“Gastric bleeding. Are you thinking of sacrificing yourself for love, Bradley?
“Well, if you’re considering that, at least go to Coastal Highway 9, where Esther passed, shouldn’t you?
“Or, even better, jump into the sea. The sea doesn’t have a cover. Don’t jump off a building. If you hit someone or
damage the flowers and plants, that would be quite unethical.”
Bradley glared at Kevin, his attitude harsh. “If you came here to mock me, you can leave!”
Kevin sneered. “Oh, how perceptive! You actually know that I came here to mock you! Do you think I came here to
see you? It was your servant who contacted Mandy, and Mandy called me. I had no choice but to come. Bradley,
oh, Bradley, can you explain why you’ve ruined your life like this?
“If you weren’t so arrogant and self-assured, not so aggressive, five years ago, you would have a happy family now.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmYou’d have family, love, friends, children, and a career. You’d be happier than most people in this world. But… what
about now? What do you have left?”
Kevin’s questions felt like needles, piercing Bradley’s heart deeply.
Bradley clutched his wounded heart and stared at Kevin with ruthless eyes.
“Dr. Slade, Mr. Warner is in poor health and needs to rest,” the doctor intervened, overhearing Kevin’s conversation
with Bradley. “Please refrain from causing further stress.”
“He deserves it.”
The doctor winced, thinning, ‘Dr. Slade, you used to be much gentler. Did you go off the rails after resigning?’
Bradley casually picked up a pillow and threw it in front of Kevin. “Get out!”
Kevin picked up the pillow from the floor and placed it gently in front of Bradley. He turned to the doctor and
whispered, “If you’re feeling unwell, inform the doctor. If you genuinely wish to end your life, do it in a way that
doesn’t burden anyone else.”
