Bradley never expected Esther to treat him that way. A sense of unfamiliarity engulfed his nerves as he watched
Esther and Logan leave, their closeness leaving him with bitterness and jealousy.
He hoped she was her. Deep down, he genuinely wished she was her. Despite that, the current Esther had nothing
even remotely resembling the past Esther, aside from the face and name.
The Esther from before wouldn't have pulled the trigger even if handed a gun. Bradley had an inexplicable
speculation. If it were this Esther, she would kill him without question.
The past Esther's heart had a place for him, be it love or hate. Now... her heart had no room for him.
"Bradley." Jasper extended a hand toward Bradley.

"I'm not that free," Jasper said casually. "I went for compatibility tests. My kidneys aren't a match. Have you done
the test?"
"None of your business," Bradley replied flatly.
"It's said that the success rate in such tests is higher with blood-related individuals. If you hadn't pushed Esther..."
Wrath brewed in Bradley's sinister eyes. "Don't mention Esther in front of me. You're not worthy."
Jasper mockingly chuckled. "The one who's truly unworthy is you. Would Esther have died if you didn't force her into
a corner? If you genuinely want her well, I suggest you get tested at the hospital. Consider it a good deed."
Bradley watched Jasper leave, then staggered out of the hotel and went alone by the seaside.
The vastness of the ocean stretched out endlessly before him. He stood on the empty beach, and the sound of
waves crashing against the rocks echoed in his ears. For some reason, his heart hurt like it was being burned.
Bradley silently gazed into the distance, then, after what felt like an eternity, crouched on the sand and traced
"Esther" repeatedly with his finger in the soft sand.
A wave washed over, instantly erasing what Bradley had written. As he watched, he made a sudden decision.
"It's me. I want to see you."
After Esther freshened up, she glanced at Logan, who had long finished getting ready, and asked, "Logan, we've
been at the hospital for so long, and no one has come looking for us. Could it be—"
"Nope," Logan cut in decisively. "Unless something unexpected happens, the bait is about to be taken."
"Really? How do you know?" Esther asked, puzzled.
"Besides Bradley keeping an eye on us, others have been observing us lately, too."

Esther asked in astonishment, "So, they are..."
"If my guess is right."
Logan had extensive work experience, so he was someone Esther naturally trusted.
"The problem is, if they want to check me, won't our cover fall through?" Given Esther's current physical condition,
any examination would expose the truth.
"It won't," Logan reassured Esther firmly. "This is illegal here. The fewer people who know, the better."
"But what if they insist on checking?" Since Esther had made such a huge sacrifice, she didn't want any slip-ups.
"Grandaunt Agatha will use acupuncture to create a facade of weakness for you," Logan replied.
Esther didn't press further, seeing Logan's meticulous arrangements. She then curiously asked, "Do you know
anyone specializing in metalwork?"
