Chapter 146
Cheryl clutched her face, pain and shock rendering her speechless.
Moments later, fury replaced her shock. She glared up at Liam and bellowed, "Liam! How dare you... how dare you hit me! This is the Stone family's territory. Do you dare to strikehere? Get out, all of you! Take that little bastard with you and get out of the Stone family's house!"
Liam towered over her, his gaze icy and sharp enough to cut through the hysteria. A hint of lethal intent flickered in his eyes as he spoke with chilling calm, "Mind your language. What's it to you if I hit you? I'm not just brave enough to hit you—I could kill you if I pushed to it."
Gurgle!

She watched Liam approach, step by deliberate step, and to her, he might as well have been the Grim Reaper himself, cto drag her to hell.
His eyes were terrifying, his presence overwhelming.
"What are you doing? Stay back... I'm Grandpa's darling granddaughter. If you kill me, I swear, Celena will pay dearly. My grandpa, my parents, they won't let her off easy!"
Cheryl's eyes widened with fear as Liam advanced toward her, her feet inching backward in a futile attempt to escape.
Celena, realizing the gravity of the situation, dashed forward and grabbed Liam, who was on a collision course with Cheryl. She shook her head vigorously, pleading, "Liam, please, think this through! If you hurt Cheryl now, Grandpa will hold you responsible!"
Liam halted, his gaze softening as he took in Celena's tear-stained cheeks. He gently caressed her face, his anger giving way to concern. "It looks painful, it's so swollen."
As the Pendragon commander-in-chief, he had the power to wipe the Stone family off the map with a mere command.
However, he couldn't, not for Celena's sake, not for Jovie's.
The ties between the mother-daughter duo and the Stone family ran deep, especially for Celena, who cherished her family bonds.

Later, in a small clinic on the street corner, Liam sat with Celena, examining the bruise on her face. Thankfully, it wasn't serious—a bit of ice when they got hshould do the trick.
"I'm sorry, Liam. I must seem so weak to you, letting you down again..."
Celena sat on the bed, her gaze lowered as tears trickled down her cheeks. She felt the weight of Liam's barely-contained fury throughout their journey. Yet she remained silent, unable to voice her concerns about his volatile temper. She feared provoking him further, choosing instead to swallow her pain alone.
Her sobs returned, and Liam, at a loss, watched her. He gently patted her head, reassuring her, "Why would you think anything less? You've done an amazing job! Don't worry, I won't let anyone bully you ever again. I'll be right here with you."
With the comforting touch, Celena nodded vigorously, wiping away her tears, her voice bright with excitement. "Liam, guess what? They accepted my proposal! Cheryl just couldn't handle being
outdone by me, and that's why she lashed out. I'm over the moon! Thank you for sticking by my side, and for helpingnail this proposal. I'd be lost without you."
"You're the smart one here, it's not much about me!"
Liam chuckled, watching the transformation from a tearful, wronged woman to one brimming with joy, proudly sharing her triumph. The sparkle in her eyes infused Celena with newfound confidence.
