Chapter 163
Liam's brow furrowed as he heard Yale's biting words. Calum, standing behind him, lost his composure and barked, "Out of line?! You think you can talk to my boss like that? Try me, and I'll turn this place upside down!"
Yale did not even blink, a smirk playing on his lips. He regarded Calum as if he were a fool, thinking to himself, 'This guy thinks he can take us on? Dreaming of a sit-down with our chairman? He's delusional if he thinks he's anything but trash.'
"Ha, you've got snerve! You think a few tough words are going to scare me? Look around, this is the Jerden Group, not splayground for your antics! You think you can just cin here and tear the place down? This is the renowned Jerden Group of Willoughby!"
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtYale mocked as he shot a challenging look at Calum, then turned to Liam with a sneer. "What's this? Does a guy like you have followers now? That's a surprise. Do you really believe having a sidekick by your side means you can waltz in to see our chairman?"
Calum's anger, simmering under the surface, finally boiled over. He took a step forward, fists clenched, ready for a fight. He was the top assistant at Pendragon, with the clout of a major general. No one had ever dared to insult him like that.
Out there, in the real world, someone as clueless as Yale would have been taken out with a single shot! However, Liam put a hand out to stop Calum, his gaze icy as he stared down Yale as if he were looking at a dead man. "Apologize to my assistant. Now!" Calum stepped back, standing behind Liam, his eyes burning with fury as he glared at Yale.
Yale burst into uncontrollable laughter. "You're kidding, right? You wantto apologize to him? And who do you think you are? Even if I did apologize, could he handle it? I'm the marketing manager of the Jerden Group. My status is way beyond what you two nobodies could ever match. Do you want an apology from me? As if..."
Yale's last word hung in the air as he spat in Calum's direction, his face twisted with scorn.
However, then...
Crack!
Liam's hand flew out, striking Yale with such force that he was sent sprawling into the reception desk. His forehead collided with the corner, splitting open and spilling blood down his face.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmYale swiped at his face, his fingers coming away crimson. He glared at Liam, fury etched into his features. "You son of a bitch! To think you'd start a fight at Jerden Group, oh, this is rich!"
Scrambling to his feet, Yale snatched up the phone at the front desk and punched in the number for security. "Get down to the lobby, all of you, now! And I mean everyone! Move it, or you're all fired!"
He slammed the phone down. Clutching his bleeding head, he fixed Liam with a venomous stare. "You think you can cause trouble here at Jerden Group? You're both done for! I'm going to make sure you learn your lesson today, you arrogant fools!"
Within minutes, a squad of about twenty security guards, armed with batons and dressed in uniform, charged toward the scene.
"Mr. Yale Wabsor! A-Are you okay? Who did this to you? Who?!" The security captain was wide- eyed with shock at the sight of Yale's bloodied face, rooted to the spot.
