Alex with a cold short, placed his hand on the steering wheel pressed the gas pedal and drove off.

Candice sat on the couch, demurely holding onto his fingers. Her intoxication was evident from the

Momentarily baffled, Candice replied nonchalantly, “Aren’t you aware of his whereabouts?”

Sonia nervously touched her lips and squeezed the words out, “I was busy last night and don’t know

where he was.”

Candice responded coldly, “Hmm, maybe he was busy.”

Sonia quickly finished a few bites of her meal at Candice’s table and left without saying much more.

But by the afternoon, Sonia was back to adoringly following Alex, appearing as though they had never

had any disagreements.

She excitedly approached Candice, sharing that Alex wanted her to organize the upcoming company

team–building activities scheduled in a few days.

Clearly. Sonia would be there, but more as Alex’s girlfriend than as an intern, given her limited

knowledge of the Noxville situation.

Candice, on the other hand, was there as his secretary.
