Candice handed her the glass of water. Nina stood up and grabbed the glass while complaining to

Alex.

Nina did her nails, and she had put diamonds and sequins on her nails.

When she was taking the glass of water, the sequin on her nails seemed to have been raised, and it

sliced on the tip of Candice’s fingers, leaving a cut.

Candice was startled by the pain, and she almost immediately let go. However, the moment that she let

go, Nina had also let go. She had even applied sstrength to it, and the entire glass of water was

was to raise her head and give Alex a scowl, signaling him to shut up.

Alex’s demeanor grew icy. He looked at Candice for a while and said, “If anything happens, don’t cry

about the company mistreating its employees.”

With that, he walked out of the clinic.

Meanwhile, despite the extensive burn on Candice’s hand, her timely arrival and the prompt medical

attention given by the doctor prevented it from getting worse.

However, her hand was bandaged by a thin layer of gauze.

The only uncomfortable part was the wound on the top of her ring finger, where Nina’s sequin had cut

her and then scalded by the hot water. Her skin was becoming all white, and she felt upset looking at it.

After being bandaged at the clinic, she thought Alex had already gone back to the office. She didn’t

expect him to wait for her outside.

Candice stopped before walking over with her usual expression on her face.

When Alex saw her, he looked at her hand.

She then continued, “Nina did it intentionally.”

Alex slowly frowned. “Do you have proof?”

Candice looked away. She didn’t have any.

Alex looked at her with mixed feelings before saying in a hush. “Don’t throw out an accusation with

nothing to back it up. The company will compensate you at the highest level.”

Candice was also feeling upset and instead asked Alex, “You’re hiding the truth for her sake?”

Alex’s expression beccold. “Candice, you have no proof.”

After being bandaged, Candice’s hand was still in pain. When Nina had cut her finger, she felt that the

pain had shaken her very being.

Candice formed an unknown smile and asked Alex, “If Sonia was the one that was hurt, would this be

okay?” Alex looked at her, his patience thinning. “Is there a point with that question?”
