266 Using A Hammer To Crack A Nut
(Jane’s PoV)
The discussion was going smooth even though there were some matters need not to be discussed. As long as the three of us could get along, the talking between men should just stay between them. There was no need for me as a woman to interfere with whatever they decided about.
After the dealings with the South Sea and the broken portals had finally cleared up, we decided to return and devised a new plan for the Grand Meeting. We also broadened our knowledge about ghosts, shadows, devils, and all entities living in the different realms from us.
The amount of knowledge was overwhelming. The more we studied, the more we realized that we were just small creatures in this complex universe. The more we learned, the more we wanted to know. Siji had to drag us out of the house to make us stop reading the old scripts.
I looked up a little and shielded my eyes from the bright sun. It was still morning but the sun was shining so brightly it hurt my eyes.
“It’s not too bright. It’s just you didn’t come out often to see it.” As if sensing what I had in mind, Siji scolded me. He didn’t act like an Advisor, but as a brother for the most of the time.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtI frowned while squinting my eyes to see his almost transparent body. He was changing his style of fashion recently. He usually used to wear white robe, like an ancient saint, but now I could see him dress in modern casual clothes; an oversize t-shirt and pants. His long hair was still in pony tail, but it was exactly this style that made him looked like an ancient manhwa character who came out from the manhwa itself.
In short, he looked ten times more attractive than his previous style. The reason behind his change? I had no idea. Maybe he took my comment about his style seriously and he fell in love with his current style. It was just a small comment from me. I didn’t think he would take it seriously.
“Stop ogling over him!” Tom covered my eyes with his big hand, totally blocking my sight. His voice sounded like growl.
.....
A chuckle escaped from Siji’s mouth. “I’m not interested to be in your harem, Milady.” His teasing voice was pleasant to the ears, but it really made me want to reward him with a pinch.
“Really? It’s a pity since you can be a rare collection in my harem.” I refuted back lightly with a smirk. Since I couldn’t do anything to him, I might as well tease him back.
Another shadow appeared in front of me. Even under Tom’s big hand, I could make out the person who was shielding me domineeringly.
“Are you protecting me or him?” I reached out and tugged on his clothes lightly.
“Him.” Sanji answered casually, which earned him a pinch on his waist. A gasp of pain mixed with laugher entered my ears, but not once did Tom uncover his hand from my eyes.
“When will you let me go?” I tugged at his hand.
“Until you stop ogling him.” Tom answered decisively.
“I didn’t.” I pulled his hand away hard and turn to glare at him.
“You lie. Your eyeballs almost popped out when you looked at him.” Tom accused me, refused to believe in my words.
“I didn’t.” I shook my head in denial. There’s no way I would tell him that I found Siji attractive. I already had two handsome hunks beside me, why should I add one gorgeous soul into the group? His case was entirely different with Tom’s back then. I didn’t want to have another soul boyfriend ever.
“We have a guest, guys.” Sanji’s voice stopped our bickering as we all looked towards the source of the unpleasant wave of energy. It was coming towards us quickly. Judging from the size and the thickness of color, I could see that it was a low level shadow.
After we returned home, we had extra cleaning work to do. I had no idea which bored people tried to send shadows to us. Even if it were just my father, this level of shadows wasn’t enough to make a mess in our house. Siji was having a fun time laughing until his belly ached -as if he could still feel it -at the fact that these many shadows were like plaything in our hands.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“I’ll handle it.” Tom pulled up his sleeve and got ready to accept the shadow. He picked up a broomstick nearby and got into a nice of pose to hit the ball -ah, I mean, the shadow.
I saw his energy coating the fragile broomstick in a thin layer. He had a nice control of his own power now. He didn’t even need to expend five percent of power to deal with this shadow. Using his full power when dealing with this level of shadow was like using a hammer to crack a nut. It’s too much!
A minute later, a shrill cry was heard as the shadow was hit back to where it came from. It was comical to see but it was pretty much fun to us. Whether it came back to its master safely or half-dead, it wasn’t our concern.
“Actually, I am a bit curious about this person. Is it the same person or a different one? I want to know their reason of sending these shadows to us.” Tom casually said while looking at the direction where the shadow disappeared.
“You can send one of the men to follow the shadow.” Siji suggested.
I shook my head. “What’s the difference between that person and me? Personally, I want to face this kind of human head on. I don’t want to bother our men with this trivial matter.”
Tom and Sanji shot each other a confused look. “Most people won’t bother themselves with trivial matter and will let the henchman to take care of it. Only you will think the other way.” Sanji chuckled while rubbing my head.
“As expected of our brave Master of White Army.” On the other hand, Siji agreed with my opinion. He was nodding his head in satisfaction.
“For now, I’ll just wait for a higher level shadow to appear. Whoever this person is, he needs to feel the feeling of being targeted.”
