90 Finally, Home! (2)

“You’re lucky we were close by when we found you unconscious yesterday. You’ve been sleeping for almost a day now. You must be feeling hungry.” He said as he sat down besides me, checking on my temperature.

After that he pulled out his phone and gave someone a call.

“She is awake. Bring the porridge over.”

I was at lost seeing him commanding someone like that. I was just about to call him when he stopped me.

“Drink first.” He said as he held the straw near my lips.

I didn’t object and sucked the water in the glass like a madman.

“Slow down, you’ll choke..” Damn, I did. “There, there.” He patted my back lightly, but I notice the corner of his lips lifted a bit and his eyes had the hint of teasing glint.

“Sanji, is she really awake?” Someone obviously didn’t care about knocking the door and just barged in with a tray in his hands.

“Yes, she is, Hani. You’ll spill the porridge if you don’t know how to be calm.” Sanji stood up and took the tray from Senior Hani who was looking at me with relief all over his face.

.....

“He was the one who informed us about your disappearance.” Sanji said as he put the tray on the nightstand. “Ever since we found you near the pond, he has been staying close and insisting to...”

“Sanji!” Senior Hani interrupted quickly while blushing. I think it was too late for him to stop Sanji now.

“Wait for you to wake up.” Sanji shot him a glance, ignoring Senior Hani’s attempt to make him stop, and continued where he left off. His hand kept stirring the porridge in front of him casually.

Senior Hani hastily turned around and left, but I noticed the blush that got even redder on his face. How could a man blush easily?

Sanji shook his head when he saw his student ran away because of feeling shy. “Don’t mind him. He is just too shy around girls.”

Ah, so he is like that around other girls, too?

“Ah...” He stopped his hand movement and thought a bit. “I think he blushes like that only around you.” Sanji stared at me as if confirming something.

“Yes, only around you.” He nodded and his hand started resuming his hand movement.

I blinked my eyes, not knowing what to say.

“You attract too much bugs around you.” I heard him mumbling in dissatisfaction.

“What?” My voice came out as a squeak and it almost made me slap myself.

Sanji looked up but didn’t say anything. “I’ll help you sit so you can eat properly. Should I feed you?” He asked with a serious face.

“No, thanks.” I declined his offer right away. This time I didn’t squeak. A bit hoarse, but my voice was still fine.

As soon as the warm porridge entered my throat and stomach, I could feel a bit energy flow into my body. In the end, I finished the whole bowl in a flash.

After eating the whole bowl of porridge, I was fed with sweets. I was so starving that I forgot one crucial thing.

“Where is Tom?”

“After we found you, he disappeared. I don’t know where he went to.” Sanji shrugged his shoulders.

Hearing his explanation, I frowned. There was no way he left just like that. Something must have happened to him. Was it possible that he went back to the place where he said he saw his body?

“Actually, there is one more thing that you need to know.” Sanji seemed to be more careful with what he was about to say, but he had no idea I had guessed what it was.

“Rizal is dead. The funeral was held this morning. You were still unconscious, so...” He left his words hanging, but I already knew.

“Alright.” I answered shortly.

“They said they found his wife died, too. Probably a heart attack after seeing Rizal died. She was said to have fragile body since young.” Sanji added.

I didn’t say anything, just nodding my head. I knew it was all real, it was not a dream. I could still see some of the white-clothed men guarding every corner of the room as well as the door.

Could Sanji see them?

Seeing his calm demeanor, I doubt he could see them.

What made us different?

I pondered a bit, but I still couldn’t find the answer.

“By the way, your father called. He will come tomorrow.”

Hearing my father would come was probably the best information I had ever heard so far. What had happened during my six months stay had changed my view of life. Especially my last two months where my life was always on the edge, my father’s presence gave me a sense of security.

I honestly couldn’t wait for him to arrive. There were too many things I needed to ask and he needed to answer. I really wanted to go home!

“Just take a rest. Call me if you need anything.” Sanji patted my head lightly before he got up and walked out of the room.

“Sanji...” I called before he pulled the door closed.

“Yes.” He looked at me.

“Thank you.” I smiled.

He returned my smile with a gentle one. “Anytime. Welcome home, by the way.” He replied.

I chuckled. “It’s your home, not mine. But, still it feels better than there.”

“It will be yours later, after all.” Sanji chuckled. I didn’t know he was being serious or just trying to enlighten the mood. “Ah, the bathroom is on your right. I’ve put some of your clothes there. One of your friends at dorm brought it this afternoon. Good night.”

This time, he closed the door for real.

I was left in the room alone, looking at the ceiling. Sanji’s room was picturing his personality well.

He looked detached and cold from one glance, warm and friendly upon knowing him, and passionate and trustworthy after knowing him well. However, there was a hint of childish in him. it added to his charm as a man, though.

As I drowned myself in analysing Sanji’s personality, one of the men approached me.

“Someone is sending shadows to you.”

The look of relax in my eyes turned cold. Who was it that so eager to end their lives?
