96 Anymore Than This, Let’s Fight! (3)
“You, you, you...”
My lips twitched when I saw this old man pointed his finger again at me, this time there was a mix of rage and hopelessness in his eyes.
Did he only know how to say ‘you’? His other reactions couldn’t win this one.
As soon as the surprise left their faces, I watched as their expression turned dark.
I raised my eyebrow. “Did someone turn crazy before?”
“Not just crazy, but died.” The second old man snorted.
“How long did it take before this person went crazy or died?” I asked again.
“The longest was two hours after he commanded them.” The sixth old man replied.
Two hours.
.....
I counted with my hands. It had been more than 24-hours for me, but I didn’t feel anything other than being irritated and frustrated. And it was because of a whole different reason.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“Jane, how many hours have passed since you last commanded them?” The fourth asked me.
“More than twenty four hours, I think.” I replied calmly.
Their old eyes widened again. I thought my presence would give them heart attacks one day. But, I hardly doubt that they would die because of it.
They couldn’t possibly die again, right?
At least, I wouldn’t be accused as murderer if one day I made them so angry until they coughed blood.
Dear Universe, you made me meet these poor old men, surely you have considered the consequences, right?
As I said that in my heart with a sneer escaped my lips, thunder rumbled outside, as if answering my question.
But, I wasn’t done.
If you drag me to an unknown place without my consent again, I’ll fight you! Anymore than this, let’s fight, my dear universe! Whatever you are!
I raised my fist into the sky angrily and the thunder rumbled even madly, reacting to my anger.
“Why are you provoking the sky?!” One of the old men reprimanded me.
As I looked at their faces again, I noticed the fear in their eyes.
“I couldn’t remember the last time thunder appeared in our dimension.” The third old man shook his head.
“Something big is happening.” The fourth old man sighed.
“What something big? It is clearly because of this little girl! She is provoking the sky!”
“You should be grateful that you are fine even after 24 hours had passed. What are you doing provoking the sky?”
“I’m telling them to stop making me appear at random places, so what?” I replied casually.
The sixth of them had dumbfounded expression on their faces. Was it so surprising? The universe, nature, sky, or whatever it was had chosen me to command the White Army. I knew for sure that I was not the usual person who possessed the sixth sense. If I were to speak frankly and exaggeratedly, it must be something related to the balance of the universe. It had been written by God and executed by the Universe.
I couldn’t complain to God, right? Under the absolute order of life, I couldn’t do anything. But, against the executor, the ruler of this small universe, I was sure I could complain a bit.
“Gentlemen, if there’s nothing to talk about, please, excuse me. I would like to return to my bed.” I stood up, ignoring the look they gave me, and walked towards the bedroom where I came from before.
To my surprise, Siji had been waiting for me, smiling from ear to ear.
“Milady.” He bowed a bit.
“How do I return?” I asked him.
“Concentrate and find the opening of the curtain that separating our dimension.” He answered.
“That’s it?” I raised my brows.
He nodded. “Do you need me to send you back?”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“No.” I snorted. Wasn’t it just opening a transparent curtain? It couldn’t be that hard, right?
I sat down on the hard bed cross-legged and closed my eyes. As darkness entered my vision, I stabilized my breath. Then the image of the room in Sanji’s house entered my vision, only it came in slightly grey color. It was as if a curtain was separating me and the room. The only thing I needed to do was to find the opening of the curtain.
Where was it? Why was it so hard to find it?
My frown was getting deeper as I searched and searched but couldn’t find the opening.
“Having trouble, Milady?” A voice drifted to my consciousness. “The first time is always hard.” I couldn’t see his face but his voice carried a trace of smile.
Damn, this adviser. How dare he mocked me!
Out of nowhere, I saw Siji reaching out and pulled the curtain open. “The opening is so hard to see, but it is there only for those who can see it.” He said as he put down the curtain once again.
I didn’t even blink only to spot this opening. He was right. The opening was hard to see, but it was there. This time, I reached out myself and pulled the curtain.
The feeling was almost the same with touching the finest silk. The only difference was this one was softer and transparent. Also, this one was cold.
Not the cool type, but eerie cold type. At least, it was not the same with touching snakes.
As soon as I stepped inside the room, the warm air greeted me, making me sure that I was back to the human dimension.
Great, finally more time to sleep!
I crawled back under the cover and closed my eyes. This time, I was sure I would wake up in this very same bed, and not in some unknown place.
But...
BANG!
