Chapter 154: Selling Potions

-----

After the Dungeon exploration, Frank was already within the closed room where Clishya would buy the monster corpses he sold.

This time, he had also tried something new and wanted Clishya to inspect two HP and MP Potions from the large stack he possessed on his Inventory.

Although Clishya was surprised at first, she chose to not delve into how Frank even got his hands into them, thinking that he might have gotten them in the Dungeon's occasional Treasure Chests.

"I would like to test them, but I am not really someone experienced on Alchemy… Although there is someone here that might now, so I am going to call him, he's the person that attends the shop on the second floor of the Guild by the way," said Clishya, as the two suddenly heard knocks from the door.

"Oh, he's here!" said Clishya, running towards the door and opening, as a gentleman entered.

"Thanks for calling me here, Clishya… So this is the merchandise?" asked the man, as he noticed Frank, whose presence was rather dim due to his Stealth.

"Ah, I almost didn't perceive you… Frank, is it?" asked the man, his race seemed to be a Raccoon-kin Beast-man, he resembled a thin human with healthy white skin, black hair and raccoon ears atop his head and a raccoon tail at his back, his emerald eyes seemed rather sharp, as he inspected Frank thoroughly.

"Yeah, it is nice to meet you, sir… What might be your name?" asked Frank politely.

"Ah, my name is Agrado, it is a pleasure to meet the blooming Adventure of this town, Clishya had told me a lot about you, it hasn't been a week since you started going to the Dungeon but it seems that you've already made a fortune due to the efficacy of your hunting…" said Agrado, sitting in front of Frank while in the middle there was a little table where the potions were set.

"Am I famous or something? (Well that was to be expected, although I wouldn't really like to bring attention to me…)" asked Frank.

"Indeed, although you've kept your identity a secret in these last days, the rumors about someone selling over 30 monster corpses a day is spreading," said Agrado.

"Ah… what a relief," said Frank, knowing that he was mostly unknown but just a rumor was fine by him.

"Anyways, I don't want to trouble you anymore with my babbler, let's get to the point… These two Potions, did you make them, Frank?" asked Agrado.

"…No. There is a talented alchemist in my group who is beginning to make these potions with materials, and she wanted me to sell them to see how valuable they could be," said Frank.

"I see, time to see them then. Five Senses Enhancement," said Agrado, conjuring a Life Attribute Spell that enhanced his senses for a small amount of time, with this, alongside the senses of a Raccoon-kin Beast-man and his knowledge and experience in the field of items made him an excellent man for the work of seeing the value of an item alongside its quality.

Although Frank's System said that the quality of the potion was of E-Rank, not everyone else had the System, so he was unsure if it could be of the same value as with him.

These HP and MP Potions healed around 40 Points in HP and MP and were rather useful to the party… if it were not because Frank could heal almost endlessly with his Mana regeneration and Gift of Life, while Kamei had good healing spells from her Miracle Magic Skill.

Although Frank would still keep a few dozens of potions for an emergency, he wanted to see if he could sell them, and then gradually introduce more items dropped from the monsters in hunting domains… his goal was to even introduce Magic Crystals and see if the people in here could use them to craft magic items.

Agrado inspected the potion, its substance, scent, flavor, and consistency first.

"It seems to be a very high-quality potion… something made by a very experienced alchemist, perhaps someone who had studied alchemy for over fifty years if not more," said Agrado, surprised.

"However, we have to test how immediate is the healing effect in an inflicted wound…" said Agrado.

"Inspect? Don't you mean…?" muttered Frank while raising his eyebrows.

"Why yes, I am rather confident on your friend's potion, Frank, so I will test it on myself," said Agrado, extending his black raccoon nails and slashing a bit of the skin of his other hand, until blood began to flow out.

"Now, if you excuse me," said Agrado, drinking a bit of the potion, which had strawberry flavor, fascinating him with such a strong sweetness and scent that already made the potion a top-tier beverage even without the healing effect.

Flash!

In an instant, Agrado's wound regenerated, surprising him.

"A-Amazing… I really thought that it would be a good potion… but this… it clearly does exceed my expectations…" said Agrado in surprise.

"(Oh, it seems that it worked quite well… Heh…) Why is it?" asked Frank.

"You don't know, Frank? Well, Potions usually take a few minutes to take effect when consumed… Potions that simply work the moment they are consumed are… incredible rare!" said Agrado.

"Is that so…? So how much for each one? The red heals wounds, and the blue restores mana," said Frank.

"Oh, so the blue ones are Mana Restoration Potions?! Those are even rarer…! Well… Such Potions would often be used by Adventurers of higher Ranks… But even for a Rank 5 Magus would these potions be valuable if they are of instant effect… their value is… well, it is very hard to measure it properly…" said Agrado, the simple potions that were often neglected by Frank's party were in fact incredibly valuable in this world.

Frank smelled that there was some big cash coming to him now.

"Maybe I could give you a discount if you buy them immediately, but you have to tell me the max price that you could think of it," said Frank.

"Well… Ten… ten Silver Coins would be the max I would pay for them, although in moments of emergency, such as wars where such resources are bought n higher quantities… Well, you may be able to inflate the prices and turn a greater profit! …Although that would be rather scummy," said Agrado.

"Hoh? Alright, I will sell the health potions to you for 9 silvers each, how about that?" asked Frank.

"That's… thank you very much for your discount, I will buy them immediately! A-Ah, and about the Mana Potions… well, they would be even more valuable, going up to 25 silver coins," said Agrado, being completely honest with Frank without trying to trick him, as he wanted to earn the boy's trust.

"(Is Mana Regeneration such an issue in this world?) I see, I can give them to you for 24 silver coins each…" said Frank.

"Oh! Such a generous discount, thank you very much, Clishya, please make the papers," said Agrado.

"Y-Yes, Agrado-sama…" said Clishya, she was a bit surprised about how Frank was selling the potions for such a high price, after all, one silver coin could feed a whole family for three months…

If Frank was not drowning in money already, he was surely going to do now, even more, that he had such a large quantity of accumulated potions on his Inventory!

Maybe buying a giant manor for his family whenever he gets into the capital will not be as hard as he thought!

"By the way, could there be a chance to communicate with your alchemist? Or does she prefer to remain anonymous? I would gladly pay her to produce these potions in batches, they're so valuable that I cold sell them to the capital and all the aristocrats would immediately buy them for their spoiled brats," said Agrado.

"Oh? Well, I will try to ask her for that, she produces a few every day, she even has some special spells that let her do Alchemy even faster," said Frank lying once more, and giving in the excuse that he 'produced' potions faster by his 'friend' having spells that increased the speed of alchemy.

"Amazing! Please, do so, Frank-sama," said Agrado while rubbing his hands like a greedy man.

"(I wonder if it's racist to call Raccoon-kin greedy moneygrubbers… Because look at him… Well, I guess it is not a racial trait… Right?)" wondered Frank.

"I would be better for you to never mention it," said Hades to Frank.

"(…You're right)," said Frank.

After a few exchanges of words, Frank ended signing a few documents which he always read carefully, which were mostly about keeping transactions secret and other stuff.

After that, he was finally given his sack of coins and the other sack of butchered Mana Cores.

"I wonder if your friend uses those Mana Cores for her potions? Impressive that she can get such quality from Rank 1 Mana Cores…" said Agrado.

"She has some secret ingredients and spells to go with, but she always says that it is a family secret," said Frank.

"Ooh, I see, she must be from a family of witches or something, how wonderful," said Agrado.

"Alright, there we are… 1 Gold Coin, 82 Silver Coins, and 23 Bronze Coins!" said Clishya with a gentle yet tired smile, due to Frank, she had to count so much money every day, which made her a bit tired.

Frank quickly saved the bags inside of his Inventory as Agrado suddenly noticed that Frank had a Storage Spell, something incredibly valuable between merchants such as him.

"Storage Magic?!" he asked in disbelief.

"A-Ah! I forgot to tell him beforehand… Well, you didn't want this secret to be revealed," said Clishya.

"It's fine, and indeed I have. This is how I can bring so many monsters. If you want our deals to be kept, you better not reveal this info to anyone, Agrado," said Frank with a gentle smile.

"O-Oh! Sure thing…!" said Agrado, feeling a bit disappointed.
