Chapter 374
“Have you forgotten what happened to your father in the end?” asked Zack, back to singing his old
tune.
“I’ll never forget about that,” replied Jackson, “and as I’ve told you before, I will never repeat my father’s
mistakes.”
“If that’s true,” his grandpa snapped angrily, “You should kick that woman out of Valor Residence now
and never let her back into your life ever again!”
“I’m afraid I can’t do that,” said Jackson, his eyes dark and gloomy. The second he heard what his
grandpa said, his heart tightened suddenly, as if he instinctively rejected the notion right away, so much
so that he was not even willing to think
about it
“You” Zack almost choked on his breath as he glared at his grandson.
“I’ll never repeat the same mistake my father made, Grandpa, so trust me when I say that I’ll have

won’t be able to leave me.”
Jackson then smiled, but there was no mirth in his eyes, only a look of warning as he added, “So I hope
that you won’t interfere with my affairs, Grandpa. If you meddle too much into my business, I might be
forced to restrict your movements.”
Zack’s face flushed red instantly. He broke out into a coughing fit, and even when the coughing finally
stopped, it was obvious that he was furious with his grandson.
“Are you threatening me?” he asked.
“No, I’m merely reminding you.”
Jackson fixed his eyes on his grandpa’s and added, “If anything bad happens to her, I’ll go up against
you with no holds barred!”
Zack looked into his grandson’s eyes with his muddled but still very sharp gaze, and he knew that
Jackson was not joking.
“What’s so special about that woman?!” He asked, completely befuddled, “What is it about her that has
turned you into a love-
crazed idiot?”
He had sent people to bring Serenity here so that he could see her. That woman was extremely
average-looking, nothing at all like the ideal granddaughter-in-law he would like to have.
“Because she’s the first woman to let me call her Sis,” answered Jackson with a smile. Because

And he would do anything to hold onto this feeling.
Zack looked at his grandson in disbelief, as if what Jackson had just said was comically laughable. He
was sure that Jackson was only joking and dodging the question.
Jackson blushed slightly and said, “You wouldn’t understand, Grandpa.”
“You’ll regret it sooner or later!” Zack barked bitterly.

can see if I’m really going to regret it one day.”
“Fine.” Zack snapped furiously. “Fine! I’ll wait until the day you regret it all!”
That afternoon, Serenity walked out of the restaurant with the dishes she had already prepared as well
as the candles and Incense as she headed toward her mother’s grave.
When her mother died, her father had not even bought a tomb in the cemetery for her. Instead, she
was simply buried in a

graveyard in a village where one of her father’s friends lived merely because it was much cheaper that
way.
Back then, all her father had had to do was give the village chief some cigarettes, and it would all be
settled. This solution was certainly much cheaper than buying a tomb in a cemetery.
Afterward, Serenity had considered moving her mother’s grave to a more suitable place someday,
especially since the grave was only on a small plot of land near a hill next to the small village.
