Chapter 375
1/2
It was usually a difficult journey to the graveyard, not to mention a time–consuming one. In fact, even
the grave was cracked in many places, and fixing it would require a big undertaking, so Serenity felt
that it would be much better to just move her mother’s grave to a proper cemetery.
Alas, just as she was planning to do so, she had been thrown into prison and forced to abandon the
idea temporarily. When she was finally released, she found herself penniless. She could not afford to
pay the workers to relocate her mother’s grave, much less buy a spat in a cemetery.
As she walked to the foot of the hill, she saw the graveyard administrator working the registration in the
shed that was set up there. There were many people who had gotten there earlier queueing up to
register one after another.
Serenity joined the queur, and when she got to the front to register her mother’s grave number, the
administrator noticed it and quickly asked, “What are you doing here? This grave has been moved from
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇthere.”
“Moved?” Serenity was shocked.
“Uh–huh,” the administrator flipped through the documents and explained, “It’s been moved by a man
named Grayson Lewis. I think he’s the husband of the deceased ”
Serenity suddenly remembered that the last time her father had wanted to meet her, he had used the
excuse of wanting to discuss the matter of her mother’s grave, but when she did go home, her father
and stepmother did not talk about it at all but focused on her relationship with Lucas Gomez instead.
Because of that, she had never given much thought to it anymore. She never thought that her father
would actually move her mother’s grave so suddenly, especially without even informing her at all.
“Do you know where they moved it to?” she asked anxiously.
“I don’t know anything about that,” the administrator replied. “All we do is move the grave, we don’t
really care where they move it to!”
Serenity bit her lips and asked again, “Then… Then can you let me go up there and take a look at it
myself? I’ll just register my name and go up for a while just to see if it’s really been moved, then I’ll rush
back down.”
Seeing that she was pale and distressed, the administrator decided to agree and let her in.
Serenity almost flew up the hill. She rushed to the spot where her mother’s grave used to be, but all
she saw was a bare pit. Even the tombstone was gone. All that was left was a small, tiny bag of dirt
near the pit.
So, it had actually been… moved!
Serenity was stunned and stood rooted to the spot for a long while. When her senses finally returned,
she picked up her phone and dialed her father’s number.
The phone rang for a long time before it was finally answered, and she heard her father’s voice on the
other end of the line say, “What do you want?”
“Did
you move Mom’s grave?” she askeri.
“So what if I did?” replied Grayson impatiently. “You ungrateful daughter! I thought you’d completely
forgotten about your mother’s grave!”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“Where did you move it to?”
“Ha! So you still care about it, huh? 1 thought you’d completely disowned your family! What’s the point
of asking about your mother’s grave now?”
Serenity pursed her lips and took a deep breath before asking her father, “What do you want me to do
so you’d be willing to tell me where Mom’s grave is?”
“So you’re finally humble enough to beg me now, huh, you ungrateful daughter? I told you not to tempt
Lucas Gomez and ruin his relationship with your sister, but what did you tell me?”

He then threatened, “I’m telling you now, if you don’t give me 10 million dollars, don’t even dream of
finding your mother’s grave ever again!”
As soon as he had finished that sentence, he hung up the phone.
Serenity called her father again and again after that, but it was never answered.
She rushed down the hill and headed straight to her father’s house, but no matter how many times she
pressed the doorbell or knocked on the door, no one came to answer it.
