eyes. He was smiling, but he spoke with a serious look. It was as if he would really cry and fall into

“Do you want to see?” His voice rang in her ears again. A soft murmur, the sweetest words of love.

Serenity shook her head. “No.”

Her answer caused a slight confusion in his eyes. “Why?”

“Because it’d hurt me. If you’re crying, it would mean that you’re sad. I don’t want to see you sad,”

Emotions stirred in his eyes. Her words created a warm current that flowed through his heart to his

heart and lungs. Many in this world could not wait for him to have bad luck. His friends mostly treated

His father had loved his mother too much, so much that he had given the young Jackson very little
