In the apartment, Jackson carefully placed Serenity down on a chair, then went to reheat the food that

had gene cold.

Looking at Jackson getting busy, Lisa changed her mind about him. She used to dislike the idea of

Serenity living with a stranger, but he obviously treated Serenity very well.

Lisa was glad to know that someone was taking care of her best friend like this,

Lisa soon went home. Jackson and Serenity had a simple dinner together. After the meal, Serenity

wanted to clean up, but Jackson said, “I’ll do it. You shouldn’t move around too much.”

Serenity thus had nothing to do.

After doing the dishes, Jackson asked Serenity. “Sts, do you need to go to the bathroom?

She looked embarrassed, but finally gave a very small nod.

He thus picked her up, carried her to the bathroom, and then backed out again. “call me when you’re

done,” he said.

She was surprised he actually noticed that she had not gone to the bathroom for a while.

After coming out of the bathroom, Jackson carried Serenity to the chair again.

She could not help saying, “I can walk, you know. One of my feet has a minor fracture, but my other

foot is fine.”

“The doctor said you should walk as little as possible,” he said, “Or do you dislike me taking care of you

like this?

“N-No, I don’t,” she shook her head with a blushi.

He smiled and gently stroked her blushing face. “Although I don’t like it when you get hurt, I like it when

you rely on me like

this.”

“Rely on you?” She was a bit puzzled

“Yes, rely on me. No matter where you want to go, you need me to carry you or you wouldn’t be able to

get there. I like that you’re dependent on me, so… feel free to rely on me more.”

His body slowly moved closer towards her. She could feel his warm breath on her face. His eyebrows

“I-I’m not used to relying on people,” Serenity could just barely force out those words

That night, when it was time to go to bed, Jackson brought Serenity a basin of warm water to wash her

feet. One of her feet was bandaged so she could not wash it. She could only wipe it a little.

The other foot, however, could be washed

Jack held her uninjured foot and put it in the warm water. He gently cleaned it with his slender lingers.

“You should take an extended leave from work. The doctor said you need to rest properly,” said

Jackson

“There’s no need for that. I go to work kantorrow. In our job, it’s not that convenient to take a leave,

especially a long leave. You might get fired.” She was clearly hesitant.

“Even if you do get fired, you can just look for a new joli after you’ve recovered,” Jackson insisted.
