Chapter 676
When Serenity suddenly opened her eyes, she realized that she had been dreaming about the little boy and little
girl again, but this time, she had woken up as soon as the boy fell to the ground!
She looked up, and her eyes met with Jackson’s familiar pair of eyes, but in that instant, his eyes looked dark and
gloomy, like a deep bottomless sea
“Were you dreaming just now?” he asked softly, but his voice sounded so distant.
“Yeah,” she nodded. She glanced at the clock on the wall and discovered that it was already two in the morning.
“Did I wake you up?”
“No,” he replied. “I couldn’t go to sleep just now. What were you dreaming about? You look so pale
Serenity was about to answer him, but she suddenly realized at the last moment that she had no idea what to say.
Should she tell him about the girl and the boy in her dreams, and that she thought that the boy was probably Lucas

Jackson had always hated the fact that Lucas always mistook Serenity for a girl he was looking for, and in fact, even
she still could not wrap her head around the reason why she would dream about all these things… Could it really be
because Lynette had told her about saving Lucas when they were little? Could that really be the reason why she
had been having these dreams? But then why was she the little girl in the dreams herself?!
“It’s nothing.” she gently shook her head. “Just an insignificant dream that meant nothing in particular”
Just an insignificant dream?! Jackson’s eyelashes trembled a little as he stated, “Your forehead is covered in sweat.”
As he spoke, he reached out his hand to touch her forehead.

It was then that Serenity noticed how damp her forehead was and how even her palms and her back were soaked
in sweat.
But in the next moment, she noticed Jackson’s hand stop before it touched her forehead and no longer moved any
closer to her.
“What’s wrong?” she asked, startled.
By that point, Jackson’s face seemed to be contorted with pain. He seemed to struggle as he tried to curl up his
fingers and withdraw his hand away from her. Serenity grabbed it suddenly and discovered that it was trembling.
“Why is your hand shaking?” she asked, but then immediately discovered that his hand was not the only part of his
body that was shaking–his whole body was.
In a panic, she asked him, “Jack, what’s wrong?! You’re shaking like a leaf!”
“It’s nothing,” he replied, taking a breath. “I’ll be fine after a while.”
“I’m calling the driver to take you to the hospital now!”
Still worried sick about Jackson, she quickly picked up her phone to call the driver who was also staying in the Valor
Residence, but before she could dial the number, he suddenly hugged her from behind.
He wrapped both his arms tightly around her body and burled his face deep in the crook of her neck. His warm

“Let go of me, Jark. I’ll take you to the hospital, so you..”
“I’m really fine,” bemured. “I don’t need to go to the hospital. I just need to stay this way for a while… hugging you
like this.. then I’ll be fine.”
Serenity’s face was full of doubts, but slae still let him have his way and stayed in that position without moving,
letting him continue to hug her.
But the squeeze of the arms around her was beginning to get tighter and tighter, and along with the violent
shaking, his embrace was starting to put her in a lot of pain.

“Ouch!” she gasped.
His body stiffened, then with a hoarse apologetic voice, he murmured, “I’m surry. Am I hurting you? Can you
endure it for a while? Please just let me hug you a little longer.”
He thought that perhaps the only way he could gradually calm himself down from the intense panic he was feeling
just now was to hold her close to him like this for a while, to make sure that she stayed here by his side and not
leave him.
