Pause System: Harem In The Apocalypse
Chapter 57: Pause Level 3: Chronos Field.*Drip* *Drip*
Droplets of blood could be seen gathering on the floor. Gray's head was hung down, the blood could be seen dropping off his nose.
[HP: 9/25]
[Minor bleeding]
Right as the chipped knife made contact with his forehead, he was able to create a platform with pause and step away. It seems as though he wasn't fully able to avoid it however.
Based on his memory there were five of them, one guy was stuck to one of the buildings using some sort of strange force which resembled magnets. He had used his ability on Gray from the wall. Another seemed to have been able to transform parts of his body, the one who was flying around like a bird.
Then the purple guy, the giant and one more, Gray didn't know the ability of the last one but he was hidden.
'I'm outnumbered… And almost out of stamina and health… Do I run? If I fail to get away they'll follow me back…' Gray wondered.
"Ah… This pisses me off…" Gray muttered with head still down.
[Would you like to use a mystery box?]
'Mystery box?'
Once he turned his head up, a small cut could be seen on his forehead as he observed the group ahead of him. At that moment however, a knife was thrust right at him, once again by the same guy at the same spot.
"Pause."
*Clang!*
The knife thrust was canceled out as it came into contact with some sort of invisible wall. At that instant, Gray's figure vanished before appearing crouched down, beneath the purple haired man.
He swiped at his legs to knock him off balance, but to his surprise, the purple haired easily avoided it with a slight hop before throwing a back kick as a counter.
Without bothering to dodge, Gray took the counter head on, swinging his head as if aiming to get hit. Seeing this, the purple haired man quickly retreated his leg before stepping back at the last second.
[Magnet: Pull]
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtGray's figure proceeded to get pulled in by a strange force In the exact same direction as before, once again. Turning to it, he could see a shorty spiky black haired man with the top half of his pair of horns pitch black, standing on the building walls on his feet. He had his left arm stretched out pointed in Gray's direction.
Without bothering to fight back, Gray let himself get pulled, watching as his body levitated and slowly accelerated towards the man.
Once he was in between the two buildings, the winged horned man, flew towards him. It's feet large and clawed like an eagle as he extended it out to grab him.
[Pause]
Gray time the pause, stopping himself in the air, just as they were about to collide, resulting in the other going right past him. Following that, Gray removed the pause off himself and created a platform in the direction where he was being pulled, allowing him to remain in the air.
During that moment, Gray pulled out a strange black box from his pouch. It had a red ribbon at the top with a question mark beneath.
"You better be useful…" Gray hoped.
[Would you like to use the mystery box?]
"A final gift before his death?" The purple haired blindfolded man asked
Gray unwrapped the ribbon before grabbing the top of the box, getting ready to open it. Light slowly flashed out of the box as it began to tremble. Something was slowly coming out of it.
Noticing this, the blindfolded man quickly leapt off the edge of the building at Gray. The one with the magnet ability further increased it's potency as Gray found himself basically glued to the platform from the pressure, and the flying horned man took a curve before quickly flying right at Gray.
Gray was placing everything on this, if it turned out to be something useless, he would surely have difficulties escaping.
At that instant, a bright light flashed across the city and a glowing white orb emerged from the mystery box.
[Congratulations! A rare skill orb has emerged!]
Seeing this, all of their eyes widened before they grew even more desperate to stop him.
[Unable to learn skill, convergence option available!]
Gray paused stepped, as far as his twenty meter range could take him up into the air, to his surprise however, when he glanced down, the purple haired man was only inches away from his leg with the chipped knife thrust at it.
*Pierce*
when they collided, the winged man had grabbed onto the blindfolded guy's legs before boosting him up to Gray.
[Pause]
Blood could be seen pouring down flowing down Gray's leg which had been stabbed. He grit his teeth as his face was contorted from the pain.
*Splatter*
The purple haired man's mouth opened as cold sweat dripped down his face. His body was stuck in the air. He had pierced him thinking it was his win, but now he couldn't move a muscle.
"Converge." Said Gray as he looked down coldly at him, preparing the black curved sword as he raised it up.
The winged man with the green horns suddenly flew at Gray, seeing as how the purple haired man was under some sort of ability. He flapped his wings in hopes of increasing his speed significantly to stop Gray,
[Beginning convergence.]
[Converging...]
The skill orb slowly sank into Gray's chest as he pushed it further inside of his left hand.
[Skill Orb converged.]
[Obtained skill point]
[Allocating one skill point into pause, confirm?]
"Confirm."
[Pause has levelled up.]
[New Pause Ability gained]
The man's claws were inches away from Gray's neck, ready to rip it off.
With his head covering his expression and eyes glowing a bright yellow, Gray muttered "Chronos Field."
Aurora and Violet who were at home, could be seen preparing breakfast together whilst Lara was doing the laundry. Kylo and Lita were still fast asleep.
"I wonder where Gray went…" Violet uttered.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Probably to the city." Aurora replied.
"By himself? I don't think he'd be the type to take such a risk."
"Risks? He doesn't care about those… He's a reckless idiot…" She muttered, her hands trembling as she cut the carrot
*Chop*
Although her expression didn't show it, Violet could tell that Aurora was worried.
"He'll be back soon."
*BAMMMMMM!*
Thunder stroke down on top of one of the buildings and a figure emerged from it. The top half of the horn on his head was yellow matching the color of his yellow hair. He was crouched down inspecting the blood sample of the decapitated corpses of his fallen allies.
Each and every one of them had been stabbed in all three of their hearts, resulting in their deaths. The blindfold had been removed off the last one's face, portraying his blind eyes.
"One clean swing… I've seen many promising abilities users but they were all inexperienced. To think that these hyuman could defeat some of us… Even if it's the weakest link…"
Veins could be seen bulging out of the man's neck as he muttered. "Perhaps I should lead them to extinction, right now?"
*BANG!*
A bullet from a heavy caliber sniper was shot at the man's head, in aims of blowing it to pieces. Despite that, nothing seemed to happen as the bullet was sliced into miniature pieces only inches away from his face.
"Would you look at that… I almost forgot I was on the battlefield. How many kills will this make it? 104?" He added with twitching eyes and a smile.
His blood was boiling with anger and hatred..
Following that, the man vanished, leaving behind a trail of lightning
[Quest Completed.]
[Defeated All 5]
[Rewards Have been received.]
Gray's figure could be seen panting before he dropped to his knees. His heart was pounding out of his chest as he hid inside one of the apartments.
'Move… Move!!'
His body was unresponsive… The blood was gushing out at an abnormal rate.
Gray had no idea that using the new ability would have brought him to the verge of death.
