Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtGregory asked Han after a while if he should use up some of his free points, and Han told him to save it for a time when he was really in trouble. For now, he was more than strong enough to handle anything that would attack them, so he didn’t need to add any points.
By the time Han and Gregory reached the thirtieth floor, Gregory had already gotten his gold Star. It wasn’t very hard to get it with how many stat points Gregory was getting from each kill! Han was received respectfully by members of both the Trinata and Rivera guild and decided to do some looking around before they go back down to the first floor. He told Gregory to do whatever he wanted and Han disappeared into the guild building.
Gregory was bored immediately after Han left. People were looking at him as a spectacle just because he came here with Han. People were only used to seeing Han with women, so Gregory being with Han was a shock to them.
Han might have adopted him, but Gregory didn’t see himself as Han’s son. He didn’t need a father at all after what his last one did. He saw Han more like a distant uncle that lived far away and who he hasn’t seen since a long time ago. Yeah, something like that. Gregory was walking alone around that thirtieth floor for a while before he finally happened to run into a familiar face.
Leona was shocked when someone called out to her from behind. She looked back and saw Gregory waving to her. She was on her way to go clearing more floors. She just managed to get her gold Star two days ago and she wanted to keep moving as quickly as possible to get stronger, but she told the rest of her party that they could go without her so she could talk to Gregory. She would catch up with them once she was done.
Gregory didn’t know why he called out to Leona, but for some reason, he felt like he needed to talk with her. The first thing he did once Leona came to him was to thank her for trying to help him back on his world. Leona wondered why he was thanking her. She didn’t even do anything to help him. But Gregory told her that she did.
Even if he didn’t show it at the time, he really thought she was right. Her ideology of not killing his family was the right thing to do and if he was anyone else, he would have accepted it. But he also told her that at the end of it all, Han was the one who understood how much he needed that revenge.
Leona looked Gregory over and she noticed how much he had grown. He was almost taller than her and she was sure that she was almost at six feet! He must’ve been training a lot with Han. And he even reached the thirtieth floor in this one week since she left him? She didn’t think that Han was the type to help people clear floors, so that means Gregory cleared all those floors on his own.
“What Han did really helped me. I don’t think I would be this calm if I left things the way they were in Magicus, so don’t blame him. He was just looking out for me”
Leona sighed. She heard that Han adopted the boy. But she didn’t think they would be this close. Gregory was trying to make her forgive Han? She could maybe forgive him for what he did in Magicus, but their bad blood was deeper than that. She couldn’t forgive him for what he did on that tenth floor. It was too much for her to overlook.
After some time, Han arrived again, and Leona quickly greeted him as the leader before turning to leave. She still wasn’t comfortable around him. Han silently asked Gregory what that was all about and the boy shrugged.
“You have a lot of girl problems, Han. I don’t even know how you became this strong with all these girls around you as distractions”
Han smirked and then ruffled Gregory’s hair agitatedly! Of course, he had girl problems. You automatically get those when you’re as strong as me!!
Gregory quickly shoved Han’s hand away with a glare before trying to fix his hair. Han laughed at the glare and then waved Gregory towards the direction they were supposed to be going.
“Come on, it’s time to get back home. I think Yue misses you already”
Gregory groaned. He completely forgot about that midget.
…..
Once Han got back to the restaurant, he couldn’t stop his tired sigh from escaping. One week on the road was still tiring no matter how strong he was. Han greeted the girls and watched as Yue coaxed Gregory into carrying her up to his shoulder again. He asked if that person from the White Rose guild appeared again and the girls said he didn’t.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThere were no more stalkers around the restaurant because Han was back. His mere presence on these lower floors would usually bring an entirely different atmosphere so people knew instinctively not to mess with him.
That night, Han and Yuuma were once again at the bar. Yuuma was drinking like usual and Han was mixing another drink for her. He had something serious to talk to her about this time, so he made sure that she didn’t drink too much. Her being drunk wouldn’t help anyone.
“So did it work, or is it just impossible?”
Han asked this while cleaning out the glass he wanted to pour the drink into, and Yuuma looked at him with a blank expression. Han knew that what he asked Yuuma to help him with was quite difficult and that was why he hasn’t bothered her in the one week since he came back from Magicus.
Yuuma drank from her glass and banged it on the table. There was once a time when Yuuma told Han about the failed experiments that the Celestials tried to do with the Binaries. Some Binaries didn’t want to be used to make systems so they completely killed themselves with a virus before the Celestials could get to them. Those Binaries died a gruesome death because a virus getting into a Binaries system was horribly painful.
But they were still in existence, the only problem was that there was no system inside them so they couldn’t be used to create chosen. She was shocked when Han came back last week and suddenly gave her a box which had some sort of globe inside it. He said he got it from a magic kingdom that had a power similar to the Binaries system.
Han noticed how Gregory’s system collected attributes from him killing people in his home world and he figured that their magic must work in a similar way to the Binary’s system. He stole that orb because there was a whole lot of magic power stored inside of it and he wanted to see if Yuuma could use it to recreate those broken systems.
Yuuma had been looking into it for this one week and she finally managed to make a breakthrough. It wasn’t easy, but there was a small chance that it would work.
“Yes, it just might work. But the magic is unstable as a system. If we try to use them then I don’t know the kind of effects it would have on the people who use it. Are you sure you want to do this? Rina and Kim haven’t said anything about it, but I don’t think they mind not having any powers”
Yes, Han knew they didn’t mind. But he did. Han wanted to use that magic orb to implant systems inside the two girls. If there was anyone that could do it then it would be Yuuma, but if Yuuma was already telling him that it was dangerous, then was it okay? This is his sister he is talking about. He didn’t need her to be too strong, but he just wanted her to be strong enough to not die from the smallest hit in this place.
He heard about what happened with the silver star before his birthday and he knew that if it was someone that actually lashed out in anger then she might have died on the spot without his shadow hunter. Was his shadow hunter going to be strong enough all the time? What if someone stronger than the shadow hunter comes around? No. Han needed to be sure they were safe. He needed Rina and Kim to at least be able to put up the smallest of fights.
