Chapter 180: A Monster Alpha Theron's POV "Answer me, Alek. Do you believe in this book that Astrid is a monster?!" I demanded him.
When I read the book, it kept repeating the words monster, abomination, and danger.
In the first part, it seemed like a harmless book just sharing information with the reader. It contains what an Almega is like, an offspring of an Alpha and an Omega, and it shares how an Almega is different from a normal werewolf.
It is also written in the book that Astrid's condition was normal. It's normal for an Almega to be born as a pure- blooded Omega without sharing any characteristics with her father.
However, things made a twisted turn as I reached the end of the book. The book couldn't stop talking about how important it is to get rid of an Almega if you see one.
An Almega is an abomination. An Alpha and an Omega shouldn't have any relationship with each other, more so, have an offspring. An Almega will destroy the balance in Packs and bring chaos to the werewolves once it has awakened. It should be killed before the awakening process happens. I have no idea what awakening process it is talking about.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAstrid is not a monster, and she will never turn one. This book is filled with all kinds of bullshit to confuse and cause fear to everyone.
I pinned Beta Alek down with my gaze as I waited for his answer. The reason why I gave him this task is because out of all the people around me, he is the only trustworthy one that I can fully trust with this task.
I trust that he will stay loyal tono matter what he finds out, and aside from that, I also trust his judgment.
Beta Alek's rattled expression turned stern and serious after collecting himself together. With a renewed look on his face, he stareddown and gave his answer.
"Alpha, I've met Astrid, and although she matches with most of what the book says, I don't believe that she would be a danger to anybody. In the years that I was gone, you were here with Astrid, and you know her better than I do. I'll trust your judgment more than I'll trust myself," Beta Alek bowed his head in surrender.
I nodded my head, satisfied with the answer he gave me. I thought instead of being a help, he would be an obstacle to me.
"Good... Good," I muttered repeatedly as I thought of a plan. "I want you to burn this book." Beta Alek lifted his chin and looked atwith surprise. "Alpha, this book is the only copy we have out there. It tookyears to find this book, if we burn this then..." "Then that's great!" I exclaimed as I looked at him. "That means you only have one book to burn. I don't anyone to find out about this. If anyone finds out, Astrid's life would be in danger." A flicker of hesitation momentarily crossed Beta Alek's features. Hisz brow furrowed ever so slightly, and his lips parted just a fraction, but he didn't say a thing that would betray his words earlier.
"I want you to burn that book right after you leave this room, do you understand?" I asked him again to make sure that he would do as I said.
And just as quickly as his hesitation appeared, it vanished, smoothed over by an impenetrable mask of resolve. "Yes, I will, Alpha," he replied firmly.
"As this book suggests, we need to protect Astrid. We need to make sure that no one would dare to hurt her," I added after receiving his reply.
The book clearly stated how important it was to kill an Almega, and I was afraid that someone would want to do that to Astrid in the future. I need to think about Astrid's future also. "What is your plan, Alpha?" Beta Alek asked readily.
I fell silent for a moment. I turned around, facing my back on Beta Alek and facing the window once again as I thought deeply.
I know I have promised Astrid that no one would know that she's my daughter, but only by revealing her real identity would I really be able to protect her now and in the future.
For the past three years that Astrid was working as the acting Beta, the only thing she was looking forward to was the day that she would leave the Pack.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmIf I make the public announcement that she's my daughter, then she will forever be connected to our Pack.
I sighed as I felt torn between protecting Astrid and doing things & doing things ΚΑΘΙ the way she wanted. As I think more about it, my features settled back into their usual stoic countenance.
What's more important than saving Astrid and keeping her safe? I withjust make her understand.
talk to her and make No matter what she says, the announcement must be done.
"Send invites to all the Packs," I commanded Beta Alek. "Make sure that everyone will come) I want e m everyone to know that Astrid is my daughter and no one can hurt Ker without going throughfirst," I commanded him. "Also, assign everybody with their tasks. We are going to invite all Packs to our Pack. Make sure everything would be grand and special, nothing falling shor perfection. I will personally monitor the preparation for this event," I spoke commandingly.
"Have you already talked to Astrid about this, Alpha?" Beta Alek asks.
"I'll take care of that, just start doing the rest of the tasks I gave you," I replied, ending today's conversation.
