The fight was getting more intense. Juliena’s performance was understandable since she was the original owner of the epic-ranked dungeon, but the swordsmanship Kim Hyun-Sung was showing was impressive as well. It was to the point that the room we were currently in started to change little by little.
- Move this instant!
Boom!
Craaaaack!
It seemed like they were having an even match, but Kim Hyun-Sung honestly had the upper hand.
- Juliena!
“Ahhhhh!”
- Gedric!
It was because unlike Kim Hyun-Sung who fought with all he had, Juliena was fighting while her weakness, Gedric, was revealed. I wasn’t sure what kind of person Gedric was to her, but I was certain that he was precious enough for her to throw away her life in a place like this and since he was being held hostage, it was natural for her to be unable to show her true powers. Every time I screamed or called out her name, I noticed her getting agitated.
We could finish the fight a lot easier than now. The moment these assailants started to threaten her precious Gedric, Juliena was unable to use her powers to the fullest, but the people that were watching the fight didn’t seem like they had thought about that.
‘No.’
I didn’t need to go that far. Right now, Kim Hyun-Sung wanted to show his power to the remaining members of the Blue Guild. He was biting down his lips so I knew he was being honest about this fight.
Juliena was that strong and the black tentacles around her were now stretched in different directions as they tried to tie Kim Hyun-Sung up. It felt like I was watching a stunt and it was to the point that I wondered if they had choreographed this before because he would either sidestep to avoid the tentacles or cut them off. Every time he swung his sword, the tentacles would be severed and attacks would land on the spot where Kim Hyun-Sung dodged.
Of course, Juliena wasn’t an easy opponent. It felt like I was watching my superiors fight. Out of the people that I knew, the only person that would be able to fight like that was probably Cha Hee-Ra. Even Lee Sang-Hee, who was the strongest person here, was watching Kim Hyun-Sung as if she was possessed.
As I watched Juliena fighting desperately, I thought about whether I could use her for something, but…
‘It’s too dangerous.’
If I got caught, I’d immediately be kicked out. Not only me, but the people around me would all get hurt and I wasn’t the type that enjoyed gambling. This wasn’t the right time to gamble.
- Wait a little longer, Gedric. Just a little bit!
I was really satisfied with the current situation, but the one thing that bothered me was the fact that it seemed like we were the villains here. I felt how desperate the eyeless Juliena was. She looked so desperate that I began to feel bothered. The saint was struggling in order to save Gedric who had been captured by the villains, but I didn’t feel sympathy for her.
Juliena, someone who looked like she had been swallowed by madness, was the owner of this dungeon that had killed many people. And truthfully, our party was in danger of dying as well. If this dungeon hadn’t been discovered, then more people would have died. Considering the fact that we were the first ones to suddenly trespass this dungeon, there was no excuse… but I didn’t want to quarrel with the monster that was on the same level as Kim Hyun-Sung.
- You annoying fly!
“...”
- Darkness shall consume you.
A black inverted cross appeared in the sky. It fell toward Kim Hyun-Sung, but he swung his sword while staying in place.
Boom!
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtCrack!
Craaaack!
‘He’s strong.’
I stood there in awe as I watched him cut up the large, black cross that was bigger than him. Before I knew it, I was watching with my mouth open.
- Darkness shall consume you!
Crack! Boom!
‘Huh…’
Kim Hyun-Sung’s expression was what confused me. The smile on his face showed that he was enjoying this situation.
Crack!
This could be a way for him to test out his strength. Of course, there was nothing he could do about the difference in stats and even though injuries started to appear on his body, Kim Hyun-Sung looked as if he was satisfied with his current condition.
‘His average isn’t even 80 and yet he’s able to perform like that…’
- Move right now! Fine! Cursed sword!
A sword dropped above the cursed saint that had a contorted face. It wasn’t Kim Hyun-Sung’s sword.
‘What part of her makes her a saint?’
Actually…
‘What kind of fight is this?’
It was better to describe their fight as a nonstandard, out-of-the-box fight. I personally didn’t like that description, but there wasn’t any other word that I could use to describe this fight. Juliena looked like she was in phase two and as she grabbed the sword, she charged toward Kim Hyun-Sung again. I guess it was difficult to fight her head-on because he started pushing her sword away and we started feeling the aftermath of it.
Both Park Deok-Gu and Lee Sang-Hee were using their shields to protect us and the magic that was protecting Kim Hyun-Sung, no, us, continued to envelop us.
‘Can he win?’
I was worried about who was going to win. I was certain that Kim Hyun-Sung was going to win, but I was getting a bit worried by the increasing number of injuries on his body. Even though we kept using holy magic on him, he was still getting injuries, so I thought that maybe the worst situation was about to arrive.
‘Should I trust him?’
I didn’t think that was all Kim Hyun-Sung had and I was certain that he was hiding a thing or two, but I was starting to worry that he was being overconfident.
- Get crushed by the darkness!
Juliena raised her sword and Kim Hyun-Sung also focused his magic on his sword.
‘This might be it.’
I didn’t know about the fight, but there was a certain atmosphere. When the swords filled with power clashed, I couldn’t help but scream.
“Juliena!”
Even while swinging her sword, she turned her head to where the voice came from. Kim Hyun-Sung forced Juliena’s sword which contained great energy out of her hand and the cursed sword flew into the air.
When I looked at her closely to figure out the situation, Kim Hyun-Sung had already stabbed her stomach.
- Ged… ric.
‘I feel like trash…’
I had done a lot of shitty things so far, but this was the first time that I felt this way about a dungeon boss monster. It was probably because I saw her reaching her hand out toward me while she was on the floor.
- Gedric…
As her body slowly disappeared, I saw the expedition members staring at Kim Hyun-Sung in a daze. When I pushed back the disturbing feeling, an unknown energy spread everywhere. I did flinch for a moment, but my mind felt lighter. After that, I realized that we had successfully taken control of the dungeon.

‘It’s over.’
Naturally, everyone ran over to Kim Hyun-Sung who was quietly catching his breath and was about to pass out. During that time, we heard a very loud noise.
“Mr. Hyun-Sung, are you okay?”
“Ho… How did you…”
“Mr. Hyun-Sung!”
“Oh, I’m fine,” Kim Hyun-Sung said.
Of course, everyone checked the condition of his body, but the murmuring started to get louder.
“Huh…”
“No… way…”
“I knew it was going to be difficult, but I never imagined this.”
“It might’ve been a dungeon that was about to advance in rank or it was probably downgraded. This is my first time experiencing this as well, so I have no way of explaining it,” Lee Sang-Hee said.
“Whatever happened, it’s good fortune to the guild.”
For a moment, I didn’t really understand what they were saying, but after looking at the sword that was on the ground, I realized what they were talking about.
[Cursed Sword - Legendary Rank]
‘Huh…’
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmIt was faint, but an orange light kept flashing.
‘Amazing…’
I think I knew why Kim Hyun-Sung wanted to come to this dungeon.
‘Was it because of this?’
A legendary-ranked item. There weren’t many weapons on this continent that had the same rank as this one. So far, a total of six legendary-ranked items had been confirmed, but I was sure that there were more players that were actually using one. Of course, it shouldn’t be more than 10. What made it even more amazing was that the drop rate of legendary weapons was very low even in legendary-ranked dungeons, however one had dropped right in this very dungeon. If Kim Hyun-Sung knew that he could obtain this sword in this dungeon, then it was understandable for him to go out of his way to get this.
The word legendary carried an important meaning on this continent. Legendary dungeon, legendary job, legendary item, legendary quest, legendary raid monster. Everyone on this continent always hoped that they would find one of these and the reason why this place suddenly became noisy was because of that reason. It wouldn’t be strange if they started fighting over who would keep the sword, however, the owner was already decided. I was certain that everyone knew to whom this sword would belong. I thought that it wouldn’t be bad to compliment him, so I spoke quietly.
“I never imagined that you would be able to defeat Juliena one on one.”
“I could have died if it weren’t for you Mr. Ki-Young. Thank you very much,” he replied.
As expected, since he accepted the fact that he played a big part in this fight, I guess he really wanted that sword. It was natural for him to feel that way. Just like how I wanted a good alchemy kit, he would want a nice sword.
There wasn’t a reason to discuss who would be the owner of the sword. No matter how you looked at it, Kim Hyun-Sung was the one that killed Juliena, and even though the others helped him in the fight, our lovely regressor was the one that fought her from beginning to end.
I was sure that Lee Sang-Hee knew exactly what she needed to say right now.
“F-First, I would like to announce that we’ve successfully taken control of the epic-ranked dungeon, Cursed Shrine. Let’s clean up the area and search around to see if there are other items or corpses from other guilds. We’ll have three people in one group, so if you find something special, please report it right away. I’ll make sure we calculate everything once we return to the guild. Miss Ga-Hyeon, please return to the guild right now and report the expedition group’s situation,” she ordered.
“Also…”
“...”
“It’s a bit early to say this, but I’m sure that all of you already know the Cursed Sword’s owner. If… the Cursed Sword…”
The moment Lee Sang-Hee was at a loss for words.
Buzz…
“Huh?”
Buzz!
‘What the…’
The sword that was stuck on the floor started floating into the air by itself and of course, everyone had their guards up. While no one knew what to do because this was their first time seeing something like this, the Cursed Sword slowly got closer to me. The strange thing was that I didn’t feel any hostility from it.
“Is it choosing its owner?”
After hearing someone say that, I immediately realized what was going on. As the sword approached me with a faint light, it kept releasing vibrating noises as it looked at me.
‘What is this…’
I had no idea what was going to happen.
‘Don’t do this.’
Buzz!
‘I’m not a swordsman, you idiot.’
Kim Hyun-Sung looked very confused.
‘This isn’t… shit… this isn’t right. Hyun-Sung, trust me. This wasn’t what I wanted.’
