Chapter 86 - Slaughter Part1
Qin Hua was rooted on the spot, staring at the stadium in the distance. On account of her weird behavior, the others as well stopped and looked in the same direction.
However, they couldn't see anything different or out of the ordinary. The place looked as deserted and desolate as ever.
"What happened, little white?" Lu Chen walked over and rubbed the back of her neck.
Qin Hua, however, remained silent. She was trying to decide in her mind, and it had to be fast. To fight or flee?!
The others might not be able to tell what was happening in the distance, but Qin Hua could clearly sense it. The smell, the sounds, her gut feeling, everything told her the same thing.
There was no doubt that the stadium grounds had once again become a battle zone.
And she knew exactly how strong those people were. Most of them were not even evolved. There was no way that they were going to last long.
If they didn't step in right now and help that group, everyone would probably end up dead.
But she also couldn't just lead her friends to the site of the massacre. What if the enemy was too strong? Wouldn't she just be leading everyone to their deaths?
On the other hand, they also needed to hunt more beasts and zombies to grow stronger, and clearly there was a whole lot of them at the stadium.
If they run now, they would probably have to be constantly running.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtQin Hua shook her head and let out a low growl. Her eyes shone with resoluteness. Today or tomorrow, they have to face these things. Might as well do it today!
Woof! Woof!
She barked loudly and bobbed her head in the direction of the stadium. She then started running towards it.
"Let's go." Lu Chen shouted, and the others as well followed Qin Hua.
"Alex, what is happening?" Xu Meilin asked with concern, but no one knew anything. They were simply following Qin Hua because she asked them to.
However, after just a few minutes, they could hear the commotion in the distance. There were also more numbers of smaller beasts, mutated rats, headed towards the same direction.
Lu Chen instantly shot out ice spears. Guan ye's figure flickered in and out as he slashed the beasts one by one.
And Qin Hua jumped from one beast's shadow to the next, killing them as she went.
Xu Meilin and Alex took care of the stragglers, helping Luo Zu carry Su Yan carefully.
As they approached closer and closer to the stadium, the wails and the shrieks grew louder, and the entire place seemed chaotic.
"Guan ye, Alex, Mei Mei stay back with Luo Zu and Su Yan. You guys deal with the stragglers and send a signal in case things turn worse."
"It could be dangerous in there. So I will first go and check it out with little white."
Qin Hua took out a few more daggers from her inventory and gave them to the group and then the two of them headed back into the stadium grounds.
As they took out the few rats and enlarged worms on their path, the two kept pushing their way in. However, as soon as they reached the main ground, Lu Chen's face turned unsightly and Qin Hua's face paled.
A huge bonfire was burning brightly in the center of the stadium and around the fire there were several green-skinned creatures screeching and dancing.
Goblins! Dozens and dozens of goblins!
Some of them had in their hands what looked like human limbs. They chewed the flesh and sucked the blood as if they drinking it out of glasses and merrily chattered.
Was everyone dead?
They had just seen them earlier today… just a few hours before…
They had only just now barely survived against the snakes. How could this happen?
Lu Chen and Qin Hua both stood horror-struck. Their eyes unblinkingly stared at the cruel sight in front of them. There were goblins everywhere.
Just as they stood frozen, a loud shriek echoed, and their gaze turned to look at the source of the shriek.
On one side of the grounds, a goblin stood and in its hand was a freshly torn apart piece of flesh, a hand. And in front of him was a group of people sitting down.
These were the same people who had fought along with them against the snakes.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmIt looked like not all of them were dead. They were heavily injured and tied around together, but they were alive.
Qin Hua felt a chill run down her body, and Lu Chen gulped. They both could see that something was wrong.
Though there were survivors, they all had a look on their faces that told that they would rather be dead.
Blood was dripping from their body, and some of them had their arms and legs missing.
Bits and pieces of flesh had been brutally torn away, and some had bones sticking out of their body without the flesh around the part. But… no one was crying or shouting.
They seemed to lack the strength to even care about the pain. Everyone had a hollow look on their faces as they simply stared ahead.
Qin Hua and Lu Chen's eyes, as well, traveled to see what they were looking at and they almost stopped breathing when they did.
They hadn't seen clearly before but now that they looked through the crowd of goblins dancing around, in the inner circle near the bonfire, groups of three or four goblins seemed to be huddled together.
They were lying on top of something and they froze after seeing what or rather who it was.
All the women in the group laid scattered on the ground, their clothes torn apart and their bodies covered with numerous wounds.
At some parts of their body, the flesh seemed to be missing, eaten directly from their bodies while they were still alive.
Blood trickled down from these injuries. Both Qin Hua and Lu Chen shivered at the brutality.
Something like this… the pain and the torture… they should be shouting at the top of their lungs.
But they only had a dead look in their eyes as they blankly looked up into the sky, while the goblins took turns and continued to desecrate them further.
