[Anomaly source vanished!]
[Alpha has been defeated!]
[Exit the dungeon immediately!]
[93:59:57 before the dungeon closes!]
The awakeners were surprised as the smartlinks displayed the notification in front of them. They looked at each other with twisted faces.
"What? Alpha is dead? Who killed it?"
"Damn, how could that be? It's probably an error."
"Come on, we all got the same notification."
Whispers echoed through the hall.
Smartlink did not give any notification when they defeated the giant Wyrm.
But strangely enough, the dungeon was conquered out of the blue while they were resting. Who wouldn't be surprised by this? It was something that had never happened before.
There was only one answer to explain it. Someone must have defeated an alpha by themselves. However, who was the person who did it?
Vincent Thomsen was unconscious after the awakener knocked him out. Hugo Musgrove was the same. And Gavin Sneichder needed help from the healer after draining mana and taking various attacks.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtOnly the three of them could defeat the alpha alone. However, these people were with them when the notification appeared.
"What kind of crazy person can defeat the alpha alone?"
Justin muttered as he was in deep thought. He was watching the perimeter to ensure the surroundings were safe while the wounded were receiving treatment from the healer. But his mind was drifting away.
He crinkled his eyes. "Don't tell me, Klaus beat the alpha alone?"
Klaus hadn't shown his face since they fought against Vincent. Justin thought Klaus had slipped away while they were fighting and killing the alpha. If this guy could take out the Wendigo boss by himself, He could solo this dungeon's alpha.
But Justin still had his doubts. It was true that the yellow and orange dungeons were one level different, but the difficulty gap between these two dungeons was huge. Even S-Class awakeners of Vincent or Hugo's caliber were battered before they met the alpha.
"Hah, how could Klaus do it alone? It must have been the other missing awakeners who did it." Justin squinted. "But what if he really beat it?"
Klaus might be hiding his powers. But he was still human. He had limits. But if he defeated the alpha of the orange dungeon alone, he was more than a monster.
Suddenly, Justin got goosebumps as he thought about it.
"Hey! What were you thinking, guild master!"
A masculine voice jolted him. Akio came over with a smile on his face.
"Ah, it's okay. I was just thinking about Klaus. By the way, where is he? Have you found him yet?"
Akio shook his head. "Unfortunately, not yet. I've already sent Olivia and some awakeners to comb the surrounding area. It looks like he left with Noah. I'm sure he's fine. That guy is a beast, you know."
Justin nodded his head. "Yeah. What about Joanna? She's not worried about her missing brother, is she?"
"She looks calm. That girl is focused on treating her patients. I don't know if she believes Klaus will return or is distracting herself, but she's not as worried as the redhead."
Justin raised his eyebrows. "Sylvia? What's wrong with her?"
Akio shrugged. "I don't know. She's like the girl who heard her boyfriend died. That woman went back and forth, combing the dungeon despite finding nothing. Now she's still looking for him even though the others are resting."
"What? She went alone?"
"No. Olivia came with her. I told her to drag Sylvia away if they didn't find Klaus and Noah in an hour. We don't have much time. We must leave immediately."
Not only did they need to get out of this dungeon, they needed to find the other raid members scattered inside the castle. As it turned out, Vincent and his group didn't use the portal. They walked through a maze full of illusions and traps. Somehow they found their way, but many got separated and lost.
Since the alpha had been defeated, the illusions in this dungeon vanished. They could freely walk through every hallway in this castle without worrying about getting lost. It was just that they didn't have much time. They had to get out in one day despite many missing awakeners.
An hour passed.
All the awakeners were healed, but Klaus and Noah were still missing. Vincent was still unconscious. The healers were exhausted and running out of supplies to treat the injured. Inevitably, they had to get the leader out of the castle with severe injuries.
Luckily, Hugo was getting better after receiving treatment. He took command and led them out of the dungeon.
They found separate groups of awakeners along the way out of the castle. However, out of 2000 people, only about 300 were found. The rest were presumed dead. Hugo prioritized escaping from the dungeon first.
Exiting, they found that the white mist covering this island had vanished. Everything was clearly visible. The sky above was bright blue with streaks of white clouds, and the rocky land stretched as far as the eye could see. However, that did not mean it was a piece of good news.
If they could see anything clearly, so could the monsters. Hordes of drakes were spotted every 1 km they walked. They could smell the awakeners from a distance.
The battle was inevitable, but they were more likely to hide or run. Besides being pressed for time, they had no more supplies left. They had to conserve their energy as efficiently as possible until they reached the rift. They would not be able to survive if they continued to engage in combat.
But in the end, the awakeners made it out of the dungeon on the third day.
"Hurry up! Hurry! Get on the ship immediately! The injured cross over first!"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmElizabeth Jung was the first to help them get onto the ship.
As it turned out, Elizabeth and her men faced many battles during the main group's exploration of the dungeon. The Tritons had been attacking them since day one. They were also running out of supplies, and one of the ships was heavily damaged. Luckily, a few of her subordinates were injured. They could still stand tall and give those who were battered treatment.
They still had one day left. Elizabeth requested that the ship lift anchor, but Justin refused. He urged them to wait until the dungeon was completely closed.
On the one hand, Elizabeth wanted the ship to sail immediately because Vincent was in critical condition and needed immediate treatment. On the other hand, Justin didn't want to leave until Klaus and Noah returned.
Elizabeth still holds a grudge against Klaus. She didn't care if Klaus survived. Instead, she wanted Klaus to be trapped in the dungeon or washed away in the middle of the ocean. Justin didn't know her evil intentions. He just wanted to wait for his friend until the last second.
The two of them were arguing.
"Don't be stupid. What are we waiting for? Alpha is dead. The rift will definitely close! We have to save the lives we can save. Not wait for someone who might already be dead!"
"Even though the alpha is dead, the monsters inside the dungeon can still escape the rift. Wyverns are flying around freely. We should wait for this damn rift to close while waiting for my men and the Sons of Thor's guild master."
Even Rays of Hope and Oathkeeper almost clashed because of their two guilds. And if that happened, there was a good chance that Justin and his subordinates would lose. Without Klaus' presence, they were a mere small guild.
Meanwhile, the Sons of Thor remained silent. Most of its members were Morning Star people. They didn't care about Noah, even Gavin.
Luckily, Hugo was a level-headed person. This man was not quick to defend his friend and thought rationally. He allowed Elizabeth and Oathkeeper, along with the ships carrying the seriously injured awakeners, to leave first. Meanwhile, he remained with the Rays of Hope and Sons of Thor.
Eight ships left, leaving one ship still anchored near the rift.
They waited and waited. An hour. Two hours. Four hours. And eight hours passed. However, there was no sign of the two humans coming out of the dungeon. While waiting, some of the awakeners lowered the lifeboats, hunting for fish or the remaining tritons.
At the ship's bow, the blonde-haired girl was glued to the rift that emitted orange flames with a sad look in her eyes. Joanna had been standing there all day. She did not move an inch even though the sky was getting dark.
"Hey, I bring you food."
Justin came with a tray with a bowl of warm soup on it. A delicious smell wafted through the air, but it didn't whet her appetite.
Seeing Joanna not reacting, Justin just sighed. He understood what she was feeling now. The rift was shrinking from time to time. There were 10 minutes left until the dungeon closed. However, Klaus still hadn't shown his face.
