Chapter 92
Chapter 92.
Nelly’s POV.
| started to scream, my eyes still closed. The car cto a sudden stop, and | almost hit on the dashboard. |
slowly opened my eyes, my beard beating and the lady was gone.
“What just happened?” | asked, my voice trembling.
“Let’s go check,” Kex said, his voice low and serious.

| unbuckled my seatbelt and opened the door, stepping out onto the pavement. But | froze as soon as | saw what
was in front of me. There, on the street, was the lady, unconscious.
| held my breath as | knelt down beside her, gently rolling her over onto her back. | let out a sigh of relief when |
saw that she wasn’t bleeding. | looked up at Kex, who was standing a few feet away. His expression was
unreadable, his eyes dark and stormy.
“Let’s take her to the car,” | said, my voice shaking. “We can’t just leave her here. She needs help.”
“No! We aren't taking this stranger with us,” Aisha said, shaking her hair.
“What!” | exclaimed, my jaw dropping as my gaze darted from Kex to Aisha.
“Aisha’s right,” Kex said, his voice steady. “We can’t take a stranger along with us. It’s too dangerous.”
“But we can’t just leave her here,” | replied, my voice rising. “She’s hurt and she needs help. We can’t just walk
away.”
“You're right, we can’t,” Kex said, his voice uncharacteristically soft. “But there's got to be another way. We need
to think this through.”

“We don’t have time,” | said, my voice cracking. | looked down at the woman, her chest rising and falling slowly.
“Please, Kex, we have to do something.” He looked at me, his eyes full of conflict. Then, he nodded, his jaw set.
But before Kex could leaned to helplift her, Aisha spoke.
“Maybe her relatives are nearby,” Aisha said, irritation lacing her voice. | rolled my eyes.
“Aisha, do you want this lady to die?” | asked, my tone sharp.
“No,” she said, her voice rising to match mine. “But we can’t just take her with us. We're not far from the Astel
pack, we can find a hospital there.”
“We can’t leave our responsibility for someone else;” | replied, my hands clenched into fists. “This woman needs
help, and we're the only ones who can give it to her.”
“We didn’t hit her,” Aisha argued. “We weren't even close to her when it happened. It’s not our fault.” “We didn’t
hit her,” Aisha argued. “We weren't even cl | took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down.
“I know it’s not our fault, but we can’t just walk away from this. It’s the right thing to do.” Aisha

looked at me, her eyes filled with frustration.
“What if she gets us into trouble?” she asked. “What if her people think we kidnapped her?” | shook my head.
“She’s hurt, Aisha. There’s no sane person that would think we are trying to kidnap her.”
“How do you know?” she demanded. “For all we know, a lady collapsed even before our car touched
her.”
| stood
up, my hands on my hips. “I don’t know,” | said, my voice rising. “But I'm not willing to risk letting her die. I'm
not willing to be that person.”
Aisha looked ather expression hard.
“Whatever,” she mumbled. Aisha’s eyes rolled back in her head, her expression clearly expressing her
annoyance. | shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant.
Kex and | carefully lifted the woman and carried her to the car. Once we had her safely inside, | turned to Aisha,
who was speaking to Harry in hushed tones. Harry patted her on the shoulder, a sympathetic expression on his
face.
A wave of anger washed over me, and | let out a hiss. | entered the car, avoiding eye contact with Aisha. The
tension was palpable as we drive.
| turned my gaze to the window, hoping to find something to distractfrom the tension in the car. | tried to
steady my breathing, to push away the anger that was bubbling up inside me.
Aisha’s behavior was maddening, and | couldn't understand why she was being so unreasonable. | sighed and
squeezed my eyes shut, willing the frustration to go away. Then | felt a hand on mine. | turned to see Kex, his
eyes filled with concern.
“It’s going to be okay,” he said, giving my hand a gentle squeeze.
| forced a smile onto my lips, but it felt stiff and unnatural.
“I know,” | said, my voice tight.
But the truth was, | wasn't sure if everything was going to be okay. Aisha’s reaction had rattled me, and | wasn’t
sure how to move forward. Kex seemed to sense my unease, and he reached out to put his arm around me.
| rested my head on his shoulder, allowing myself to relax for a moment. Even though | was still
angry,
| felt comforted by his presence. | knew | would have to face Aisha eventually, but for now, I just wanted to rest.
We arrived at the pack house, and | carried the woman to the pack doctor's office. | could feel Kex at my side, his
presence reassuring me. The doctor examined the woman, and after a few minutes,
he turned to us.
“She's fine,” he said, his voice calm and soothing. “She just fainted from shock. She'll be okay with

| felt a rush of relief, and | let out a sigh. | knew it was nothing serious, but it was still a relief to hear the doctor
confirm it. But as | turned to leave, | heard Aisha’s voice.
“I knew it was nothing serious,” Aisha’s voice echoed in the room.
| stopped in my tracks, a surge of anger rising within me. But before | could say anything, Kex squeezed my
hand.
“Let it slide,” he whispered. | looked at him, torn between my anger and my desire to listen to him. Finally, |
nodded, and together we left the doctor's office.
As we walked back to the house, | could still feel the tension in the air. | knew Aisha and | would have to talk
eventually, but for now, | just wanted to put the whole incident behind me.
We sat down at the dining table, and the maids brought us food. Aisha was clinging to Harry, and she refused to
look at me. | couldn’t blher, but I also couldn't help but feel angry. She was being childish, and | didn’t
appreciate it.
| noticed someone staring at me, and | looked up to see-Kex’s eyes on me. | forced a smile, but it felt stiff and
unnatural. Kex returned my smile, but | could tell he was also feeling tense. | focused on my food, trying to put
the whole incident behind me.
Just as we were about to sit down to eat, a maid crunning into the room.
“Ma’am,” she said, out of breath, “the lady is conscious now.”
| stood up, my appetite suddenly forgotten. Kex, Harry, and Aisha followedas we made our way to the pack
doctor's office. When we got there, the lady was sitting up in bed, tears streaming
down her face.
“What's wrong?” | asked, my voice gentle. But her next words made my heart stop.
