Chapter 126
Jessica saw herself as someone who could take it or leave it easily. When she decided to divorce
Lucas, she intended to stay away from him and the Thomas family for good.
However, Olivia just wouldn’t stop causing trouble for Jessica.
Jessica could let go of the misery she had suffered during the marriage, but that did not mean that any
of the Thomas family could challenge her again and again.
Jessica decided that the dinner with Lucas wouldn’t be a pleasant one for him.
Two days later, Wendy received a call from Vincent.
The dinner would take place that evening. Vincent called, as Lucas had told him, to ask if there was
any change in Jessica’s itinerary and if the dinner needed re-appointing.
After hearing what Wendy reported, Jessica put on a snide smile.
When Jessica was still married to Lucas, he never treated her so meticulously.
After work, Wendy drove Jessica to the restaurant where Lucas had made a reservation beforehand.
It was a Japanese restaurant. Jessica remembered that Lucas did not like seafood, but she was the
one who liked it. It seemed that Lucas picked the place for Jessica’s sake.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtLucas even booked the whole restaurant.
Jessica arrived at the entrance where the waiter opened the door and bowed to her. He said
respectfully, “Good evening, Miss Hall. Mr. Thomas and Miss Thomas are waiting for you.”
Olivia was here, too?
Jessica raised her eyebrows and walked toward them.
Walking to the dining table, the waiter took a step forward and pulled out the dining chair. After Jessica
sat down, she
smiled to greet Lucas. Then she glanced sideways at Olivia.
It had only been three days since Jessica last saw Olivia, yet Olivia seemed to have lost a lot of weight.
Jessica could also tell that Olivia was quite listless.
Jessica heard that Lucas put Olivia into the Black House for what she’d done. What Jessica heard
proved right.
“Miss Thomas doesn’t look well. I wonder if you’ll like the food here. I’m quite into it, anyway.” Jessica
said with a smile. Before Olivia could say anything, Jessica gestured at the waiter and said, “Could you
give me the menu, please?”
Olivia was too listless to fight back even if she wanted to. The three days in Black House felt like three
weeks to her.
Back in the Black House, Olivia could only drink water. She wasn’t allowed to eat. She could only lie on
the hard floor, so she was cold and hungry.
At first, Olivia cried and cursed loudly, but no one paid any attention to her.
It was all dark. Olivia could only hear her own echo.
Later, Olivia started to feel scared. She felt that every second she spent in the Black House was
elongated.
It wasn’t easy to make it to the third day. Lucas had someone let Olivia out, but Lucas didn’t comfort
her when he saw her. He just asked her to take a shower and change her clothes so that Lucas could
take her to apologize to Jessica.
Olivia did not dare to object this time. Even if Jessica had belittled her right in the face, Olivia did not
dare to refute it
The waiter handed the menu over, and Jessica casually glanced at it before ordering all sorts of
sashimi and sushi.
When the dishes were served, Olivia found that even the topping of the sushi was raw fish, She felt so
sad about that. If
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmshe had known earlier, she would have grabbed a piece of bread before leaving.
Lucas glanced at the chopsticks, but eventually, he chose the fork. Jessica saw him put a piece of
salmon into his mouth and swallowed it without chewing much. His face remained unchanged.
For some reason, Jessica found that side of Lucas funny.
Olivia knew that Lucas did not like these dishes. She understood that Jessica was deliberately making
things difficult for them, so Olivia felt a little aggrieved as she watched Lucas eat.
What made Olivia even more depressed was that she was really hungry now, so even if she didn’t like
sashimi. She had to eat it, just like Lucas.
This was the first time Lucas and Jessica had sat together for a meal after divorced. Lucas was still
silent, but there was no longer coldness in his eyes when he looked at Jessica
It was also the first time Lucas had carefully observed Jessica eating. He found that even though she
was using chopsticks, she still looked elegant.
Jessica, on the other hand, was enjoying Olivia’s facial expressions while eating. Jessica was in a good
mood.
Olivia ate nothing in the past three days. The sashimi made her stomach feel uncomfortable.
However, Lucas and Jessica were eating slowly. They hadn’t started talking at all.
Olivia got so heated that she sweated on her forehead.
Finally, the silence on the dining table was broken by a sudden rumbling of Olivia’s stomach.
