144 An Obvious Change
The journey back to Cloudsoar City was smooth. The pair used the teleportation arrays, and they arrived in less than a week. Although the journey was many times swifter than if they had to journey in a carriage, Luo Xiao also felt uncomfortable.
The sensation he experienced whenever the teleportation array was turned out caused his face to turn pale just thinking about it.
The twist of space would give him a horrible headache, and the first few times, he was unable to avoid vomiting as they arrived.
Fortunately, he soon found that he was not the only one who experienced this sort of discomfort. His body was not used to the fluctuations of space, and after a few times, he started to feel better, though it was still not at a point where all the discomfort vanished.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“Are you okay?” Luo Xiao raised his head and looked at Jiang Yao, who then got to see how his usually red lips had turned white, and the face was pale as a sheet.
Although he was not feeling good, Luo Xiao was also aware that there was nothing wrong with him, apart from some discomfort, so he nodded his head, unwilling to worry the demon prince. ????n????r????????d.????????????
A slight smile surfaced on Jiang Yao’s face. He naturally knew that there was nothing wrong with Luo Xiao, but the discomfort was still not pleasant, so he wanted to hear the younger male complain to him, which would give him a good reason to carry his lover in his arms towards his palace.
But things were not as they used to be. During the time the two had been together, Luo Xiao had grown, not only physically, but also mentally.
He had become more independent. He had been naive and easy to trick before, but now he understood many things, and he was also willing to do his best to ensure that Jiang Yao did not have to worry about him.
.....
He wanted to stand above the others. He wanted to become an equal, and thus he had no intention of showing unneeded weakness.
Even though he lost the chance to carry Luo Xiao, Jiang Yao did not mind. He respected the decision that his younger lover had come to, and knew that he should assist him to the best of his abilities, instead of trying to wrap him in blankets while trying to avoid anything which might harm him.
“We will return to my Prince’s Palace first. After resting for a day, we will look for the Amber Trade Association, and speak with the general manager. The branch within Cloudsoar City is the main branch of the Amber Trade Association within the entire continent, so their manager should be capable of approving our private auction.”
Luo Xiao nodded. He listened to Jiang Yao’s words, but his eyes did not land on the seventh demon prince. Instead, they were roaming across the bustling streets.
He could not help but sigh as he noticed the atmosphere. This was the busiest of all the cities within the continent, and everything was happening at a high pace. No matter whether it was night or day, the city never slept, and this lively atmosphere, which was so different from the village where he had grown up, was so alluring that Luo Xiao feared that he’d lose himself.
There was everything you might think off within the bustling city, from beauty to unpleasantness, and from temptation to disgust. It was hard to keep pure within such an environment, and he had understood and matured more in the time he had been by Jiang Yao’s side than what he had learned while being in the village alongside his adoptive father.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmIt was not that Luo Xiao was looking down upon his past; in fact, he felt that the purest memories of his life were from when he was spending his time in the village, alongside his adoptive father. Slowly, he had matured, changed, and grown up. He was no longer the child from back then, and could no longer remain ignorant in the face of the outside world.
But the past was gone, and all he could do was cherish these memories within his heart. In the future, these memories, along with the support of Jiang Yao would be the strength he needed to move forward.
Jiang Yao looked at Luo Xiao as the blood slowly returned to his lips, and his discomfort slowly retreated. Grasping the small hand in his own, the two of them slowly began strolling down the busy streets as they looked at the many stalls that had been built on the side of the road.
They had just arrived back at the city after a long time away, and neither of them was in a hurry to rest. Instead, they took their time as they slowly walked down the streets, and even entered a small restaurant to dine.
The prince’s palace had not been informed of their return, so it was likely that no food had been prepared for them. Thus, they decided to eat at a restaurant on the way.
Naturally, the restaurant they picked was famous for the delicious dishes, and while it was small, it was always completely booked. Fortunately, the Seventh Demon Prince had his own private room in the restaurant, which was always reserved for him. No matter how busy the restaurant got, they would never rent out this room to others, but the cost of such a room could hardly be guessed.
“Your Highness!” As soon as Jiang Yao stepped through the door, a servant recognized him and rushed to his side.
“Please wait a moment; the manager will be down shortly.” They all understood that a person such as the Seventh Demon Prince could only be served by the manager, so someone went to find him right away.
When Luo Xiao had first experienced the fame and reverence that the title of the Seventh Demon Prince brought, he was shocked to the core, but now he had gotten used to this display, and could face it calmly.
