Bloodlines, also called Origin Powers, dwelled deep inside the body of some beings. They had to be awoken individually and required bending the laws of the World to a certain degree.
The stronger a Bloodline the harder it is to awaken them by chance and through unique encounters. In fact, some Bloodlines were strong enough to cause severe backlashes upon being awoken.
If the vessel was not strong enough, even death was possible. However, under normal circumstances, death was not something that would occur during a bloodline awakening.
Usually, the backlashes of Bloodlines could be summarized in a single word- Flaw.
All Bloodlines had specific flaws. Some would cause the wielder of the Bloodline to go senile whenever the Bloodline's Power was triggered, the wielder's personality might change after the Bloodline Awakening, or a fetish would be formed due to the power of the Bloodline.
Due to this fact, angels with extremely strong Bloodlines lost the ability to tell lies. They wouldn't be able to tell half-truths either. The only thing they could say was the bitter truth.
If an Angel said that they liked you, they really liked you. That was a good thing. However, if an Angel smiled at you and acted nice, but blurted out that you're a piece of shit, things would go downhill real quick.
Despite the Flaws of Bloodlines, everyone wished to awaken a strong Bloodline. Awakening them, and coping with the Flaws of a Bloodline might not always be easy, but the power of Bloodlines was hard to fathom. Even their passive attributes were quite powerful, increasing the wielder's strength in various ways.
As for the attributes of the Bloodline that had to be actively utilized, they were unpredictably powerful, and they would only grow stronger alongside the being that had awoken the bloodline.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThat was what Liam knew about Bloodlines. It was some basic knowledge everyone was well aware of.
Of course, this excluded the Natives.
As their group made their way through the green forest of the Jula Valley, Liam waited for Felicia to answer his earlier question. He had to find out how to awaken his bloodline, and what items he needed. That way, he could start making preparations.
However, Felicia looked a little helpless because she was yet to receive an answer even after half an hour had already passed since she asked the question Liam wanted to be answered.
"I don't thi–...nevermind, there is something!" Felicia exclaimed, only for her brightly lit-up expression to disappear once again, "That question costs…5000 Arcanium…"
Felicia felt immediately like cursing her Soultrait. It was way too greedy to ask for 5000 Arcanium for a question like that to be answered. Liam shouldn't have to spend his money like this.
Investing 5000 Arcanium into something else was much more worthwhile!
However, it was Liam's decision at the end of the day. If he wanted to know how to awaken his Bloodline, he would have to spend 5000 Arcanium.
Felicia looked over to Liam, who was at the front of the small group, vigilantly watching the surrounding area.
She was not sure if he had heard her when she received a notification.
[Liam Wandel(Circleless) transferred 5,000.00 Arcanium to Felicia Jaul(Circleless)]
Liam had to sell the remaining Arcane Power that had been hoarded in the Livral Orb to make up for the deficit and increase his total Arcanium to 5000. He figured that it wouldn't be cheap to find out how to awaken his bloodlines. After all, both of his bloodlines were far from simple.
Most beings would be willing to sell their soul just to get a single bloodline as strong as Liam's. However, he would feel much better with none of them coursing through his veins. That way he wouldn't feel that disgusted, at least.
"Once you have the answer, write down everything or tell me immediately, without leaving out anything. This is important," Liam suggested as he kept observing the surroundings.
Until now, no monsters had attacked them, but it was only a matter of time before that would change. He was a little nervous to find out more about the requirements he had to fulfill to awaken his bloodlines, but he had to be prepared for the worst, whether it was an attack, or bad news from Felicia.
"For your Bloodline Awakening, you need some sort of an Origin Crystal. You can also use the Livral Orb, but it needs to be filled with Arcane Power equivalent to 50,000 Arcanium. Then you either need one Ancient Arcane Circle, or all Stats at S…then a bunch of ingredients whose names I can hardly speak. The Vigalsdraschnov Pear, then the…"
Felicia approached him while reciting what she had recently learned. She wasn't speaking loudly, but her voice was loud enough for Liam to hear her clearly. She butchered the names of the ingredients real bad but Liam didn't need to be a linguist to comprehend what materials she was talking about.
"Good gracious."
No matter how expensive he expected his awakening to be, he could have never guessed it right.
He required a total of six items other than the Livral Orb with Arcane Power equivalent to 50,000 Arcanium.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmBy searching the items in the Arcane Shop and the other shops, Liam quickly found out that their prices were varying a lot.
Some were priced at 8,000 Arcanium, while others required a bunch of kidneys to be sold. As for the most expensive item, it cost 40,000 Arcanium.
All-in-all, the entire Bloodline Awakening was bound to cost more than 150,000 Arcanium.
That price was ridiculous because not even High-ranked Relics were that expensive.
Of course, there were exceptions such as the Livral Orb, but still…
How was he supposed to save up 150,000 Arcanium while he had to spend his Arcanium to improve his Stats, upgrade the Arcane Kunai, and buy other pieces of equipment as well?
He didn't even have a proper main weapon yet!
Thinking about the Arcanium he had earned since the start of the Apocalypse, he could only smile lightly.
'This is what I call a challenge…'
Even though his findings were rather frustrating, Liam was glad that he knew what requirements he had to fulfill in order to awaken his bloodlines.
Wait…were the mentioned items required for both bloodlines…or were it just the requirements for one Bloodline Awakening?!
