Chapter 786
Nicole nodded with a smile. "Okay."
Colton fixed his dark gaze on their figures. His stare was so intense that he looked as if he was trying to burn a hole
in them. Perhaps it was a father-child connection—Hayden instinctively turned around to meet Colton's gaze, and
he took a glance at Evelyn, who was beside Colton. Nicole noticed Hayden frowning and looking rather grumpy, so
she followed his gaze to see that he was staring at Colton and Evelyn.
Nicole froze for a moment before she heard a man's voice coming from beside her. "What is it?"
"It's nothing." Nicole quickly tore her gaze away before shaking her head. Zachary could sense that something was

spread his lips into a calm smile. "You should go over to say hello since you've noticed them," he uttered as he
lowered his head.
Nicole felt rather uneasy at that moment, and she looked away from the couple to meet Zachary's gaze before
frowning a little. "It's fine. We can just go upstairs," she uttered flatly.
Right after Nicole finished speaking, Hayden reached his hand out to tug on Nicole's sleeve. "Daddy's there. Go
there." Nicole felt her muscles tensing. For some reason, I feel like I'm cheating on Colton when he bumps into me
being out with Zachary… But Zachary and I didn't even do anything. This is nonsense!
Nicole stole another glance at Colton and Evelyn. This time, she felt a rather sore ache in her chest, but she quickly
returned to her senses. She lowered her gaze to look at Hayden before she finally gave in. "Okay," she uttered in a
quiet voice. She brought Hayden over to Colton. Before she could say anything, Hayden had already trotted over
and thrown his arms around Colton's leg. "Daddy!" he cried out in his sweet and childish voice.
The look on Colton's face softened immediately. He reached out and pulled Hayden into his arms before putting him
on his lap. Hayden's eyes darted around as he observed his environment before focusing on Evelyn. Then, the child
turned to look at his father. "Who's this, Dad?"
Colton patted Hayden on his head before introducing Evelyn to him. "She's a friend's sister."
"Oh," Hayden replied before he swung his legs and tilted his head sideways. He looked as if he was thinking about
something for a while before he reached his hand out to grab Colton's arm. "How could you have a meal with
another woman, Daddy? What's Mommy going to do then?" Hayden's entire face was scrunched up to reveal his
displeasure. Even though he was angry, he still looked rather cute.

her arms. "Stop talking nonsense, Hayden," she uttered sternly. Hayden looked even more displeased when he
heard his mother lecturing him. He grumpily pressed his face against Nicole's chest as he spoke in an unhappy
tone. "It's not nonsense."
"What a coincidence." Nicole was still drowning in her embarrassment when she heard Colton's voice. His deep and
rather raspy voice caught her attention, so she shifted her gaze to look at him. He was dressed casually—he looked
a lot friendlier and approachable when he wasn't in a suit.
If Nicole had known that Colton was going to be there that day, she would've done anything to avoid being in the
same place as him. Right then, she felt embarrassed to the point where she wanted to just dissolve into the ground.
"Yeah," she replied half-heartedly.
