The area around the beast was covered in char, and nothing but black, sooty grounds surrounding it. Impaling it were several weapons; ranging from spears to blades.
They all looked very powerful and valuable.
There were seventy-one of the weapons that pierced the monster’s body… most likely what killed it.
My eyes narrowed on the dead beast, and a wry smile appeared on my face. It now made sense why I sensed such powerful energy from beyond the gate back then.
This monstrosity was the cause.
Laid on the ground, surrounded by destruction and carnage was one of the most powerful races of Demons that existed.
—A Dragon!
Judging from the battle scene, I had a fair idea of what transpired here… at least what the narrative of this Floor was.
A battle occurred, and the several races combined forces. They had a common enemy, and that was the fallen beast at the center of the battle. I had an idea of the difficulty if seven hundred thousand individuals ganged up on the creature.
‘It’s at least a Grade 5…’
Dragons belonged to the highest cadre of Demons.
That meant that a Grade 5 Dragon was stronger than most Grade 5 Demons..
‘Am I capable of handling a Grade 5 at my current level?’
It was doubtful, but… I had already come this far. Besides, it didn’t make any sense for the difficulty of the Dungeon to jump this far. There had to be a catch.
And, as though reading my mind, a System window appeared in front of me—along with a ping to alert me.

[Floor Description]
The Dragon Of Storms ‘Barbados’ was slain on this very battlefield. The sacrifice was great, and after being impaled with the 71 Treasures Of War (Duplicate), the joint forces emerged victorious.
However… thanks to the grief and regret that fills this battlefield, the Dragon’s corpse has absorbed enough miasma to resurrect.
Please stop the Dragon from resurrecting, and if it does… subjugate it.
<Primary Quest>
Prevent the Dragon from completely resurrecting.
<Additional Quest>
Completely eradicate the Dragon.
[The voices of the dead pray for your victory. Please fulfill their dying wish and end the threat that assails them]
[END OF INFORMATION]
“Oh, wow. So that’s the narrative?” I smiled.
Looking down on the battlefield, I was a little happy that I wasn’t told to face off against the mobs. That would be a pain.
‘Since these ones will only be in the way, then…’
My eyes scoured the massive field, and I laid eyes on every single corpse in sight—except the Dragon, of course. In an instant, they all got transported to [Subspace], leaving the area bare.
“Much better!” I beamed

~The Dragon Has Been Cut Off From The Negative Energy Of The Corpses Surrounding It~
<Primary Quest Has Been Completed>
~Prevent the Dragon from completely resurrecting.~
[The Dragon Has failed to complete its resurrection, however, it still has enough negative energy to restore some of its powers and life essence]
<Additional Quest>
Completely eradicate the Dragon.
[END OF INFORMATION]
‘Ah, I see…’
I was actually supposed to get rid of the corpses first in order to cut off the Dragon’s supply. It was a good thing I took them into [Subspace] then.
“But, how are regular Gifteds supposed to clear this Floor? Wouldn’t it be too hard for them?” I murmured, slightly upset with the System.
Before any Party could be done with seven hundred thousand corpses, the Dragon’s resurrection would be complete. Plus, the mission didn’t even say anything about getting rid of the corpses. Before anyone figured it out, a lot of time would have elapsed.
“Don’t tell me… this is a Trap Quest?”
Trap Quests ensured that Gifteds wouldn’t be able to satisfy all the conditions of the particular mission. Their Rewards wouldn’t be complete and it was possible that they could even die as a result of their failures.
Fortunately, Towers allowed one to use Return Stones, so Gifteds could keep challenging this Floor until they got things right. Still, the time and efforts expended would only lead to frustration.
Many people would get stuck on this floor, that much was certain.
‘Welp, I just cleared it with ease though…’
It was a coincidence, but I sure was glad for my good fortune.

A deadly hum rang out, and a burst of dark energy erupted from the center of the battlefield.
My skin felt pricked, and I shuddered a little, watching from the sky as all the evil aura I witnessed converged upon the corpse of the Dragon.
It swallowed the corpse, slowly enveloping his body.
‘Oh shit, I should do ‘that’!’
I glanced at the weapons that pierced the corpse’s body and collected them as well. The System called them the Treasures of War, but these were only duplicates. The original could be found in the Tower of War.
Still, these duplicates would be quite useful since they were plenty powerful—akin to Grade 3 Treasures.
No wonder so many were able to slay that Dragon. Even many small insects could kill an elephant if they banded together. Well, there were exceptions to that rule.

~The Dragon Of Storms Barbados Has Been Partially Revived~
<He Has Become An Undead Dragon (Grade 3+)>
[Please Eradicate This Creature]
[END OF INFORMATION]
“GRUOOOOOHHHHH!!!”
The howl from a distance nearly made my skin jump, and I braced my floating body from the wind pressure that scattered all around it.
The Undead Dragon, a walking Dragon corpse, was already flexing its powers. A Black vapor-like aura emanated from the terrible being, and its skin was an ashen black. I stared into its crimson eyes and it glared back at me.
‘So it’s spotted me, uh?’
It could have been my imagination, but this creature gave me a very despicable, hateful glare. It was probably mad at me for halting its resurrection.
“Sorry, mate. It was nothing personal.” I spoke jovially, though I knew it wouldn’t accept any sincere apology—not to talk of my half-assed attempt.
“GRUUUUUUUHHH…”
I stared at the Undead Dragon as it growled, readying myself for a satisfying fight.
