Rise of The Anti God (Web Novel)
Chapter 779: Not Leaving Till We Get Rid Of Them All"P-Please spare me…" An old man feebly cried out as he crawled on the dusty ground, trying to get away from these bloodthirsty ghouls.
He was not the only one, but most of his people were lying on the ground. A good number of them were already dead, while some of them were bleeding to death or getting butchered by the ghouls.
Very few of them were running for their lives after being forced out of their hiding places.
Just a few hours ago, it was relatively peaceful, and yet now their entire station was crumbling and getting destroyed.
"Kutla!!" A large muscular ghoul shouted with a bloodthirsty cry as he brought down his huge machete on the old man's thigh, severing one of his legs.
After that, he bent down to pick up the old man's leg and began to eat it with lust for blood and flesh burning in his eyes. He paid no attention to the terrified old man who was still alive and bleeding to death while having to watch his leg getting eaten by this monster.
"Grandpa…" A small girl was about to cry out when her mouth and eyes were immediately closed by her mother, "Shh…Rita…don't…" A woman looking in her early forties whispered softly, her expression extremely horrified.
She could barely stop herself from crying out after seeing her father getting eaten alive, let alone her daughter.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThey were still hiding in the basement of their house after her father went out to distract the ghouls. Even if she knew he was running towards his death, she still couldn't stomach this sight.
She looked away with a heavy heart as she grabbed her daughter's hand and said through mental transmission, "Follow me, Rita. Grandpa wouldn't want us to get caught."
The woman's heart was thudding against her chest as she tried her best to stay in the opposite corner and prayed that the ghouls wouldn't come in.
"Mommy…I am scared…" Rita said, her voice breaking.
"Shhh, Rita. I know you are scared, but if we don't stay still, those monsters will find us," The woman said as she wiped the droplets of sweat trickling down her temple.
*Creak!*
But suddenly, she heard the wood of the floor above her creak, which made her realize that a ghoul must have entered. She immediately looked out through the basement window, only to be shocked to see that the ghoul which was eating her father alive suddenly disappeared!
Did that ghoul find out we were here?....This was what the woman first thought, making her slowly walk over to another side, to hide behind a huge cabinet.
*Bhum!*
The door of the basement was suddenly smashed open as the footsteps of someone heavy echoed…Each echo making the woman and her daughter's hearts tremble.
Who could it be other than the big stout ghoul that was feasting on the flesh of her father earlier?
"Grrrnn…" The huge ghoul grunted as he sniffed the air with a barbaric expression. The huge machete in his hand was still dripping with the old man's blood.
The woman was terrified to her core but she looked at the stairs leading to the top and felt that it was now or never. If she continued to stay here, it would only be a matter of a few seconds before the worst happened.
She held her breath as she picked up her six-year-old daughter and ran for the stairs.
"GRAWW!" The ghoul roared upon seeing the woman flying over the stairs and into the upper floor.
But instead of flying after her, the bulky ghoul grunted as he used his feet to jump off the floor and flew right towards the walls, smashing through them to come outside, where he saw the woman and her child flying away.
"GRRR!!" The ghoul grunted as he flew right towards them, his ghostly gray eyes brimming with bloodthirst.
The woman was carrying her daughter as she continued to fly but couldn't fly up because of the deadly beasts lying in wait to prevent anyone from escaping into the clouds. She was also getting weighed down by the nethereal energy in the air as the dome was no longer shielding them from the outside air. But even if she was able to use all her strength, she wouldn't still be able to outrun this ghoul behind her.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmOn her way she even sped past other ghouls who were still busy feasting on her people. They didn't even pay any attention to her as if knowing that she will end up dead in their hands anyway.
All she could do was keep flying over the roads but the huge ghoul behind her was catching up quickly.
And as if to seal her fate, she saw another lanky ghoul catching sight of her and flying towards her from the front, making her realize that she was doomed. She had nowhere else to run away.
"I am sorry…" She said weakly as she kneeled on the ground while hugging her daughter. All she could pray was that her daughter wouldn't suffer.
*Shlick!*
*Slick!*
Suddenly the sound of flesh being sliced through echoed beside them from both directions, making the woman clench her jaw even more.
But she suddenly felt the heavy, terrifying pressure disappear and opened her eyes which quivered upon seeing these two ghouls lying on the ground with their torsos separated from their lower bodies.
The woman's eyes widened to their extremities as she couldn't believe what she was seeing.
"Hey, it's fine. They are dead. Are you two alright?" A woman's soft, melodious voice sounded from behind as the woman suddenly got up and turned around to see four women in suits walking toward her.
"You all from another station? Are you all here to save us? Please….go away now….It's too late. The ghouls have us surrounded," The woman was relieved that the Salvation sent people to help them, but since they arrived too late, she didn't want these good women to die for nothing.
Lily wasn't surprised hearing her words and said in a reassuring voice, "Don't worry about us. We won't leave till we get rid of them all."
