In the kindergarten, during the break, the children frolicked together.

The principal strolled over and spotted Jennie. With a warm smile, she said, "Jennie, your mom is waiting for you in the office. Please come along with me." Jennie's eyes sparkled with excitement. Her mind bubbled with questions. Was it possible that Sabrina had shown up? Had Tyrone managed to mend things with Sabrina? Did Sabrina harbor no resentment for her? Was Sabrina here to have a talk with her? "Okay!" Jennie exclaimed, her voice carrying across the playground. Sliding down the slide, she raced to join the principal, willingly following her lead.

Once they reached the office door, the principal stopped and smiled at Jennie. "Your mom's inside. | won't go in with you. You two can have a good chat together." Jennie gazed up at the principal. "Okay, thank you," she said politely.

overwhelming sense of fondness and gently patted Jennie's head, sighing inwardly.

The revelation surfaced that Jennie was not the biological daughter of Tyrone's first wife but rather the illegitimate daughter Tyrone had with another woman before his marriage.

The individual who previously visited the kindergarten to inquire about the situation was, in fact, Jennie's biological mother, who also happened to be a leader's niece.

Jennie's supposed biological mother's unexpected visit to the principal's office today and her wish to see Jennie took the principal by surprise. After getting confirmation from Jennie's father, the principal summoned Jennie to the office. O Jennie rushed into the office excitedly. But when she saw Keilani, she was stunned and stopped. Disappointment flashed across her face. Pouting, she asked, "What are you doing here?" "Jennie, I'm here to see you!" Keilani responded, sensing

the shift in Jennie's mood and growing slightly impatient.

Keilani wouldn't have bothered to please Jennie if it weren't for Tyrone. She smiled, trying to be patient. "I know | haven't been around for the past five years, but | promise I'l make it up to you from now on." Jennie pursed her lips and declared firmly, "You can't just say it. Words aren't enough. Though they said Sabrina isn't my mother, she treats me very well. As my mother, you should treat me even better. It will take time for me to like you, as comparisons require patience." If it were in the past, Jennie would have been excited to know her biological mother had visited her, glad by the revelation that she was not an orphan.

But Jennie had long embraced Sabrina in her mother's role.

Even though Sabrina wasn't biologically tied to her, the warmth Sabrina showered upon Jennie spoke volumes.

Jennie's affections leaned heavily toward Sabrina, who treated her with kindness and consideration. In comparison, her so-called biological mother, Keilani, appeared as a

mere shadow, a distant and inconsequential figure in Jennie's world.

Given Jennie's intelligence, Keilani accepted that deceiving her wouldn't be easy.

‘When she heard Jennie compare her with Sabrina, Keilani was angered, and her frustration grew. "I understand it's hard for you to accept me right now, but you must know that my love for you is genuine. A mother's love is distinct from those who have a hidden agenda. You're still young, unable to distinguish right from wrong. In this world, nobody showers kindness without a purpose. Only your dad and | will genuinely love you. You'll come to realize that when you are older." Keilani comforted herself that she was now Jennie's.

Jennie snorted silently. If not for Tyrone being her biological father, she wouldn't even acknowledge Keilani.

Somehow, Keilani couldn't bring herself to meet Jennie's gaze, feeling a pang of guilt. How could Jennie have this penetrating gaze? It was as if she could perceive the truth and see right through her.
