He was Gavin, one of Jasmine's followers.
"Mr. White, you're finally here. Please go and see Ms. Jasmine_" Gavin probably wanted to grab Colin's arm and walk straight in. Unexpectedly, Colin turned around and helpedout of the car.
Gavin instantly swallowed his unfinished words, hesitating to speak and looking at us in surprise. I felt a little happy to see him speechless.
"Let's go in." Colin took my hand, greeted Gavin, and ledup the steps.
When I passed Gavin, I noticed his eyes were filled with broken faith.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThere should be something wrong with Jasmine's injury.
Colin learned from his previous experience to take precautions before anything happened. He had becsmarter.
As we walked down the long corridor, I noticed a nurse writing something at the nurse station. There was an unopened bag of late-night snacks on the table. It was a round container that likely held soup. When I looked at the logo on the bag, I felt it was familiar.
Colin was tall and appeared powerful. He looked serious when he wasn't smiling and didn't seem easy to get along with.
When the nurse, Amelia, saw us, she looked at him timidly. She set her things down and led us to the ward.
"Mr. White, the rehabilitation in our hospital has a specific time. It's from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Ms. Jasmine didn't go to the rehabilitation room at the usual hour. And she didn't inform us or get our permission." The implication was that Jasmine was at fault for doing her rehabilitation at night. She went there secretly without telling Amelia, and her injuries had nothing to do with the hospital's treatment.
"Is the rehabilitation room open? Why are patients able to enter at will? Isn't this the hospital's negligence?" Colin frowned slightly, not satisfied with Amelia's explanation.
Amelia probably didn't expect such an accident to happen during the night shift.
When a patient was injured in the rehabilitation room while she was on duty, it was her unshirkable responsibility. It might result in her losing her job and a dereliction of duty at worst. If someone targeted her she would most likely be unable to work in the sindustry.
If that was Jasmine's scheme, she was quite vicious.
bet Amelia was so anxious that her eyes reddened. She explained with a weeping tone, "I'm also confused about that. That room isn't open the public. We'll lock it once patients have completed their daily rehabilitation. I locked the door myself today. I'm sure it was locked." Gavin followed behind. Logically, he should have explained how they got Jasmine into the room and why she did rehabilitation at night, but he stayed silent.
Colin stopped and waited for Gavin's explanation, but Gavin pretended not to understand.

We could tell there was a problem with Jasmine's alleged injuries. Colin tilted his head and glanced at Gavin meaningfully.
"How's her injury?" he asked Amelia.
"Ms. Jasmine had a bruise on her right ankle and a small wound on the toe of her left foot. The wound an her forehead was more serious, measuring nearly an inch on the corner, but there was no blood. The condition of her mental state and injuries are currently stable." Jasmine's injury differed from what Gavin had informed us.
As we talked, we arrived at the ward.
Gavin took the initiative to open the door, revealing the scene inside.
