Chapter 853: Lover Over Friend
“You’re injured!” Ling Chuxi panicked and grabbed Huangfu Qingjue’s wrist, but felt relieved after taking his pulse, which was still stable. Though blood was oozing out of his mouth, it probably would heal soon. Nonetheless, Ling Chuxi still gave him a medicinal pill out of concern.
“I told you, I’m fine.” Huangfu Qingjue smiled gently, and held Ling Chuxi’s hand instead.
“Yeah.” Ling Chuxi started feeling less anxious and smiled slightly. Suddenly, she remembered Little Red and exclaimed, “Oh no, Little Red!” Little Red had desperately tried to save her just now and seemed to have suffered a heavy injury.

Although Little Red was silently grumbling, he actually felt surprisingly at ease. The pain in his heart had left; she was alright and that was all that mattered.
Ling Chuxi moved forward to pick up Little Red and realized he had recuperated by himself. She was distressed since his body had just recovered, but he had suffered internal injuries yet again. She quickly took out the medicinal pills she always had on her, and stuffed them into Little Red’s mouth. She fed him so many that Little Red’s eyes started to roll back into his head.
“Keep that up and you’ll kill him,” Huangfu Qingjue said quietly.
“Really?” Ling Chuxi stopped and stared at Little Red’s swollen belly, blinking in confusion.
Suddenly, a strange ringing interrupted their conversation. Ling Chuxi and Huangfu Qingjue looked up and saw that the sword heart and sword spirit were still fighting.
As soon as Gongxi Kuangdao and his men left, the sword spirit was no longer worried and started integrating with the sword heart’s divine consciousness. However, when the sword spirit had been fighting off the men earlier, the sword heart had used that time to absorb some spiritual energy from the White Jade Crystal Heart. Now, the sword heart and sword spirit were evenly matched, and neither could do anything to the other party.
“Sword heart, just give up,” Huangfu Qingjue said calmly while walking towards the sword heart, a majesty about him that was hard to ignore.

After waiting tens of thousands of years, he had finally obtained the white jade crystal heart due to chance and coincidence. After condensing and forming a spiritual body with great effort, he thought he would be able to form a divine sword, but in the end, it was all for naught. Reluctance and dissatisfaction filled him.
“Alright, fine.” Sword Heart sighed helplessly. No matter how unwilling he was, he knew that there was no way he could go up against Huangfu Qingjue’s cultivation. It was just an integration of swords, so his spirituality would not totally disappear, and he would still be a part of Cang Yuan’s seven remnants.
After thinking it through, the sword heart gave up his final resistance. He turned into a radiant light and merged into the sword spirit’s spiritual body. After both of them fused together, the feeling given off was even more different. Compared to the past, he seemed even more like a living person now, and his cultivation had undoubtedly improved.
After the radiant light vanished, a long sword with ancient engravings appeared before them. Even its sheath was engraved with powerful ancient characters.
“This is the ancient sword that the sword heart lives in,” the sword spirit explained to Ling Chuxi.
Ling Chuxi picked up the ancient sword and gently drew it out. The sword gave off a silvery gleam that was like water. Even the slightest movement created a thunderous sound like a dragon groaning, yet it was unexpectedly flexible. After infusing a little bit of True Qi into it, the sword body became as hard as steel, giving off a feeling of invincibility.
