Eya and Kakashi ran like crazy. They had to reach the other side at any cost, and as soon as possible.
Kakashi's pain was moderate, but as he ran, it started increasing step by step. Currently, it was not hurting him enough to stop him from moving.
As took the turn and kept following Eya-nee, he saw the green glow missing. It had shifted, or it has moved. The bullets, then the chants of curses and spells, and now this.
"Hurry!" he shouted, and Eya increased the page. She drew her wand and applied brakes around the corner.
She slid on the ground, the leaves and dirt mounted around her foot, then she kicked the air and rushed to the other side. She was out of Kakashi's sight.
He drew his wand and recited the spell he had planned to use. Guardian or not, he had to use it. He did not stop around the corner, he went ahead, then stopped running.
Eya was standing right around the corner with her mouth open, he got the side view, her wand halfway in the air, and she was staring at the man in front of her.
Kakashi lost his balance and crumbled to the ground when he saw the green vines leaving the body of a six feet tall man.
He pressed his hand with the wand on the ground and saved himself from rolling into the dirt. His shoulder hit a tree trunk on his side, and he finally stopped moving.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtUsing the tree as a support, he stood straight. He was sure, but he did not want to believe the man in front of him was the Guardian.
The vines were leaving his body, revealing the half-torn t-shirt, and the shorts which once used to be tights. They were so tight after being held together by the branches and vines, the shape of his butt was clear.
His T-shirt and body had turned pale green. And on his ankle was a circular mark. Someone had hooked a rope around his ankle, then dragged him into the woods till either the rope snapped or he died. But in this case, the rope snapped.
Then he heard the Guardian say, "Hello, Boss."
Eya gasped. Reon was too stunned to even gasp. Hitori had already assumed that for himself, so he was not surprised. But Akira's eyes widened. And Kakashi started boiling with anger.
Tengoku could not move. Why was he acting so shocked when it was his junior? Why? The shining shield fell apart, then the Guardian said, "Break the bond if you want to live, Kakashi."
As if someone just lowered the flame of the stove water was boiling, and Kakashi's flame of anger calmed down. "What bond?"
"The Protector's Bond. Break it. I have it from here on."
Could he believe him? Not a chance. "Fuck you," he said. "I-I am not breaking the bond."
"If you want to live." Without turning the man lifted his arm, revealing the round scales which went down to his forearm from the upper arm.
Kakashi looked past Tenngoku, at Hitori. They just looked into each other's eyes, and Hitori knew what Tengoku was trying to say. He nodded.
Kakashi closed his eyes and went deep into the incantation to break the bond.
"So, Boss, do you recognize me?" he said.
Tengoku stayed petrified. "Who the fuck are you? Some exhibitionist? Why the heck am I your boss?"
"Yes, I wonder the same. Why am I your freshman? Why indeed?"
Tengoku opened his mouth again but then froze. His jaw hesitated to open or close, he stood stuttering. "Y-Y-Y-Y-You… Migi." His voice came out like a little whisper from a mouse.
Migi laughed. "I would have been pretty upset if you had not recognized me, Boss."
"H-How are you still alive? What the fuck happened?" Tengoku scanned Migi. He remembered him as the freshman in a battlesuit. The helmet covered his head.
"After you left me to die, the woods took me in. I thought I was going to die, but they did not kill me. Why? Because the Guardian who lived here before me had suffered the same act of betrayal. So he let me live, cause the Guardian before he let him live. I learned the way of the woods, then slowly, step by step, I became the Guardian Spirit. My sole job is to protect the people who live in this house. You are not one of them, Tengoku."
"Revenge," he said, then laughed. "So you want revenge, huh?"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"If you want to call it that, I do not mind. I am going to protect them because they live in this house. And I am going to kill you because you left me to die."
"You are going to protect them? Them? Do you even know what they did? Your senior is dead because of them. And take a look at this." He pointed at the bandage on his shoulder. "They have ruined my life." He went on.
Kakashi felt a tight pain in his chest, then the pain teleported to his forearm. It burned just like when the woods were attacked, but at least it was not in his chest.
He resisted the urge to grab his forearm and scream in pain. He kept his eyes closed and his arms in the air, imagining an iron chain. A hammer was hammering it, and that was the cause of the pain.
Another bang on the chain. It clanged, and the noise echoed in Kakashi's mind. A crack appeared in the corner of the chain. With another strike, the chain snapped into two.
"Shut up, Boss. Emotions do not work on me, I am enchanted," Migi said, then felt a surge of power entering his body. His legs twitched first, then that twitch reached up to his ears. He shook his head, then looked at Tengoku. "I always hated your eyes, Boss."
He raised his hand, a vine followed his direction. Tengoku clicked his tongue as he stepped back.
Hitori raised his wand, but could not dare to interrupt them and take the chance to kill Tengoku. But it should be done. With the shield gone, they do not have much time, and fucking second chances.
A curse would be good. A killing curse. Shinigami's Curse would be the best. "Shinigami no Noroi." Hitori stopped caring about Migi, his only focus was Tengoku, but he should have paid attention to him.
He lifted his wand behind his head, then swung it forward. "Shi—"
A vine whipped away Hitori's wand. He watched in total shock. Migi groaned out loud, "I am not the junior anymore. You will do whatever I say, I am the boss now. So do me a favor and stay out of this!"
