Eisen and Brody stood in front of each other in the center of this small arena that Sky created for them using his Inkheart summoning, the same one that he used during the fight against Argon and the four monster lords back on Prototype.
First things first, the two of them stood there, ready to just fight with their fists. The fight definitely wouldn’t take too long, but Eisen still had to do his best so that he can actually end up remembering some things about his past. Weirdly enough, he became so excited about the idea of remembering this that he just dropped anything and everything else in order to do this.
What was weird about it was that despite being obviously quite interested in it, Eisen wasn’t as extremely driven to find out the other things somehow. He figured that he could somewhat ’take his time’ with it, for one reason or another, although Eisen really didn’t know that reason.
Either way, now that they were standing here, ready to fight, the old Giant-Dwarf and the Demon-Orc stood in front of each other. The seats surrounding the small collosseum-like arena were obviously filled with those that came with them to the Island of Craftsmanship and that would come with them to the Island of War. They didn’t have much better to do, and there weren’t many people that wouldn’t take the chance to see two people that peaked fight.
Sure, their levels and stats were reset, but there was still something special about it, seemingly. And both Eisen and Brody were above level 300, so it would probably be a pretty interesting fight either way.
"You ready?" Brody asked with a grin on his face, and Eisen immediately nodded his head, "Of course I am. Now, let’s get started." Eisen replied immediately, and Brody replied with a nod himself.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThis wouldn’t be an official duel, since there wasn’t a reason for that. They didn’t need to bet anything or had any stakes here at all, this was just a bit of a test, so they didn’t call up some Priest of the god of Combat for this, but instead just waltzed right into this arena before wanting to get started.
In order to properly start the fight, Kiron stood in the center of those two, and just threw a small rock into the air. The moment that the rock hit the ground again was the moment that the fight started, and Kiron jumped out of the way immediately.
Eisen and Brody jumped toward each other, and the Demon-Orc pressed his left foot into the ground, being the one that was facing Eisen, to rapidly stop his movement in his lower body just before Eisen and Brody made ’impact’ with each other.
Since his upper body still had its momentum, Brody could just use that and even increase it by pushing himself forward more with his right foot. He pressed one of his palms onto the right side of Eisen’s chest and the other one on the left side of his abdomen, before he made use of his External Energy to increase the force put onto Eisen’s body. Immediately, the old man was swung around and pushed back.
Completely upside-down, Eisen tried to fix his position and pushed his hand into the ground, rapidly pulling him down. Luckily he could catch the fall with his feet and soon stood up properly, but at that point, Brody already reached Eisen again.
Since Eisen had his feet pressed into the ground to properly get his balance together, Brody aimed specifically at them. Using the speed of his body as he was running toward Eisen, Brody dropped to the ground sideways and then pressed his palms and his left foot into the floor before simply swinging his right foot against Eisen’s legs, quickly sweeping them away before he used the momentum to pick himself up again.
But this time, it didn’t work exactly like Brody had hoped, but rather, the old man was able to pick up at least one of his feet before being sweeped down, and was able to easily press it down onto the ground to catch his fall before anything happened.
And once he caught his fall, he swung his hand toward Brody. Eisen really didn’t have amazing hand-to-hand combat techniques, so he couldn’t go for any amazing moves like Brody could, but at the very least, he was able to get a couple of attacks in. At the very least, that’s what Eisen was hoping.
He formed a fist with his hand and pushed it right into Brody’s sight. Eisen imagined that he would go flying, due to the raw strength the old man possessed, but what happened was rather different. Because Brody just kept standing in place, without moving even an inch. It seemed logically impossible, considering that the mere impact of Eisen’s hand against Brody’s side created a strong gust of wind that even reached the onlooker.
"Heh... Sorry ’bout that. It’s a little trick of mine." With that, Brody grabbed Eisen’s arm and rapidly pulled him closer while using his feet to disturb Eisen’s balance. And while the old man toppled over and was about to fall forward with his face into the ground, he stretched his arm out to try and catch his fall.
However, just before he could feel the hard surface underneath him, he suddenly felt an immensely strong tug on his other arm and was pulled back up rapidly, his body involuntarily twisting around toward Brody. Although, Eisen didn’t actually see Brody. He really just saw his foot as it crashed into the old man’s face and he was sent flying through the arena.
"Alright, I lost!" The old man yelled out after standing back up and stretching properly, "That really hurt, you know?"
"Ah..." Brody replied, "Shit, I forgot that you feel pain again..."
"Don’t worry about it... It’s still letting up pretty quickly." The old man pointed out as he drank a few health potions and handed some to Brody as well, "Say, how did you do that just there? How did you defend against that punch?"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmWith a light grin on his face, Brody handed Eisen the empty potion bottle and crossed his arms smugly shortly thereafter, "Pretty simple. Used my internal energy to counteract it. Recently brought my skill up to Rank 5 as well, and the upgrade made it possible for me to do a bunch of new things. For example, force nullification. I took so much more fuckin’ damage than I usually would, but no force was put onto my body. Was useful in a situation like that, eh?"
"Haha, you can say that again." Eisen laughed loudly, "But well, it seems like it’s working a bit, or at least it feels like the memory could appear through this. It just feels somewhat right." The old man pointed out, and Brody slightly shrugged, "Hm, I don’t feel anythin’. But if you say so, then let’s keep going. You ready?" The Demon-Orc suggested, and Eisen slowly nodded his head.
"Sounds good. This time with weapons then?" The old man suggested, and Brody shrugged in response, "A’ight. Let’s do it then. You’ll just use that demon sword, right?"
Without even having to say another word, Eisen pulled out the large black blade out of his soul storage and swung it over his shoulder with a smile on his face, "Mhm." He replied with a light grin, and Brody shrugged as he walked over to the Gate that Sigurd had opened for him and then picked a few weapons out for himself as well. Brody waved his hand to the side and made roughly a dozen weapons appear in front of him all at once. It was his own personal storage ability that he could use to store different weapons and switch between them in the middle of the fight.
This was indubitably an amazingly useful ability for Brody, since he would be able to switch his tactic in the middle of the fight and continue combat in a completely different manner compared to before, simply by changing his weapon, while also making it very easy for him to react to different situations and attacks. Especially when he was fighting against a large number of enemies, each possessing different trains, he would be capable of fighting them relatively easily as he was able to switch to the right weapon for each situation immediately.
Eisen looked at the Demon Orc while holding his sword in front of him, while Brody simply chose to equip a Jian, a one-handed, single-edged straightsword, and then stood in front of Eisen.
Once more, just a few minutes after the last one ended, the two started to fight again. But this time around, Eisen made use of something else that could be seen as a ’weapon’ of sorts. Eisen and Brody already agreed that Eisen wouldn’t use his regular size-change ability, but his Draconic Demon King transformation was fine, which included the size increase by roughly 50% of what Eisen was before.
He extended the transformation onto the Demonic blade, and it increased in size as well. Now, Brody the Demon-Orc was fighting against Eisen the three-meter-tall Demonic Giant-Dwarf. Of course, this gave Eisen a bit of an advantage over Brody, especially because Eisen’s physical abilites were heavily increased. And so, with high speeds, Eisen swung his large blade at Brody, who just easily deflected it and sent it into the ground. Or so he thought, but Eisen’s ego-sword didn’t really play along too much. Instead, it basically started gliding across the edge and around it, so that Eisen’s sword was behind Brody’s now.
Meanwhile, Eisen was able to actually adjust the position of his hands so that he was able to properly swing the blade back toward Brody. But in response to that, the Demon-Orc and expert fighter simply let go of his weapon for a few moments, let Eisen’s sword pass through in front of him, and then grabbed the handle before the sword could hit the ground.
As Eisen was in the middle of twisting his sword around, he was pretty vulnerable, so Brody quickly grabbed his sword and swung it upward at Eisen. But the old man, in response to this, jumped backward and used the momentum created with his whole body to swing his sword down toward Brody. The blades hit, and it seemed like Brody’s was actually about to give in. At the very least, Brody noticed that there was a slight dent in the blade already, and it would continue until Eisen could through Brody’s sword completely, so he simply swung his sword sideways along Eisen’s blade to avoid this.
He couldn’t attack like this, but at the very least he could now switch his weapon. The blade disappeared, and just a moment later it was replaced with a spear that Brody proceeded to push toward the old man with all his power.
