Chapter 1392
Lily smiled lightly. "Who told you?’
Anastasia stiffened. Her fair skin betrayed the redness that appeared on her face.
"N-No one. I was just curious."
There was a conflict in her heart. On the one hand, questioning Lily like this felt like she distrusted her
friend. How could she believe a stranger so easily? On the other hand, Anastasia had some doubts
about Lily.
The man told Anastasia that she had been put under a spell, and he said all of this confidently. It was
her own body that was put at risk.
"Is it Austin?" Lily asked after thinking about it. He was the only one who would get in between her and

She had never met a man as petty as he was. She had nothing against him. All the times he had fought
against, belittled, and suppressed her were due to his sexism. Lily was bored with it.
After being called out, Anastasia couldn't hold herself back and lowered her gaze before softly
muttering, "I'm sorry."
"There's nothing to be sorry about. It's normal to grow a little suspicious, and it's good to be a little wary
of people.” Lily smiled faintly. She wasn't trying to comfort Anastasia in any way. Instead, Lily was
telling the truth.
Once upon a time, she also gave her heart and soul to people without reservation. Ultimately, she was
betrayed by the ones she trusted the most. Trust was good, but being a little wary was a form of self-
protection. There was nothing wrong with that.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have doubted you! After all, you've been nothing but kind to me. These days are
the happiest I've been in the past few years. Even if I didn't lose weight, I would remember these few
days of happiness forever!"
The more Lily was kind about this, the guiltier Anastasia felt. She felt foolish for ever having doubted
her friend, especially after a man said, "Silly girl, who told you you couldn't lose weight?!"
Seeing that Galen was almost done eating, Lily wiped his little mouth and pecked his cheek before
softly saying, "Go find Daisy. I need to talk to Aunt Tasia about something."
Galen pursed his pink lips and kissed Lily's cheek before leaving the table obediently.
Once he left, Lily turned to look at the untouched dishes on the table and asked, "So, are you going to
eat these?"
"Of course! Of course, I'm eating them!" Anastasia came back to her senses and started picking at the

"Did you forget what I said? Take your time!" Lily shot Anastasia a disapproving look. "You can eat
anything you like, but take your time to eat and enjoy the food. It'll be worth it."
"I know." Anastasia nodded and slowly began to eat.
Looking at her, Lily suddenly said, "I did learn some medical skills, but I didn't learn them on my own."
Anastasia immediately burst into fits of coughing. She was startled that Lily would suddenly bring this
up again.
"Be careful," Lily said, handing her a glass of water.
Anastasia took a few sips with a flushed face and said, "Lily, I really didn't mean to question you. You
don't have to explain yourself to me. I believe you!"
If she had doubts before this, they were all dispelled.
She saw Lily as a friend, and she did not have many of them throughout her twenty years of life.
Anastasia didn't want to be suspicious of her friends due to what outsiders said.
