Chapter 1426
Maria noticed her daughter's disdainful tone and hurriedly said, "Ree, you have no idea because you
weren't there. The miracle doctor is amazing. Out of so many doctors, only he knew that Tasia had
gotten poisoned and her obesity had an uncommon cause. Besides, after taking his prescription, I can
see that she's getting better."
"Oh, yeah? How is she better ? " Rhea smirked, but no one could tell if she was smiling.,
Maria thought her daughter's reaction was weird but did not think much about it. As Rhea rarely
showed concern for Anastasia and was willing to talk more, Maria started to babble on the topic, "She
looks slimmer, but a fatty can quickly lose weight anyway, and there’s no telling how much she would
eventually lose.
"However, Tasia has been in good spirits. She used to look sick whenever I talked to her, but not

feel like I’ve entered the wrong house.
"I haven't gotten used to it yet." She felt it was funny and almost thought the place had gotten robbed
when she noticed how empty it was.
Rhea grew curious when she saw her mother's smile. "Why aren't you used to it? What changed?"
"Well, the house is the same, but the plants you told me to send over are gone," Maria said casually.
"Gone?!" Rhea bolted to her feet and startled Maria.
Maria did not expect such a massive reaction. She thought Rhea cared about the plants and hurriedly
said, "Calm down! They didn't get stolen but got lent to someone else temporarily. They'll return
eventually."
"Lent to someone else? To whom?” Rhea was still standing. She looked agitated and not void of
emotion like her usual self.
"You...calm down, okay?" Maria hesitated as she tried to soothe her daughter. "I’m not sure, but I recall
Tasia saying she lent them to Lily Russell. You know Lily deals with raw materials and probably found
the plants useful?
"Tasia is such an innocent child and listens to whatever that woman says. I've already told her not to
hang out with Lily too often, but Tasia never listens..." Maria paused
momentarily and assessed her daughter's expression. She knew Rhea was angry.
"Are the plants important? Should I tell Tasia to get them back?"
'There's no need!" Rhea sat down with a stiff face. Although she said so, one could easily tell she was
still mad.
Maria knew her daughter did not mean it and said, "If they're useful, we must take them back. Since
Lily has only borrowed them, there's no reason we can't get her to return the plants!
"If you need the plants, why did you give them to Tasia in the first place? You should have kept them,

given her the good stuff, haven’t you?
"Oh, Ree, you're so kind-hearted." Maria felt moved and thought her daughter was an angel. "Rest
assured, I’ll go there later and get them back to our house!"
She wanted to say more, but Rhea rudely interjected. "I said there’s no need! Can't you understand...?"
Maria was astonished when her daughter shouted at her. She gaped at Rhea wordlessly.
Rhea noticed her mother's horrified expression and sighed. Then she knitted her brow slightly while
softening her tone." I mean, there’s no need. Since I gave the plants to
Anastasia, it doesn’t concern me whom she gives them to."
"Oh..." Maria snapped out of her trance and answered dully. Yet, from how she looked, she still had not
recovered from her shock.
