Chapter 1448
"And?" Dominic was startled as he tried to digest her words.
At this time, Galen, who had been riding on Dominic's shoulders, struggled to get off. The old man then
slowly sat down on the chair next to him. Lily carried Galen off and noticed Dominic slumped onto the
chair, obviously tired.
"With that old back of yours, how are you so stubborn? Do you think you're still young?" Lily couldn't
help but say.
"Don't look down on me. I'm a lot stronger than most youngsters nowadays! ’ He stretched his back to

"Look at you!" Lily grumbled. With that, she pulled Galen into the room.
"Hey! Where are you going? Are you going to leave me here alone? Hey! Do you even care about
me?!" His cries attracted the servants, and they rushed over. "Sir, what's wrong? Sir?"
"Go! It's none of your business!" He shooed them away impatiently.
Then, unable to hold back his pain, he changed his mind. "Go and get me some ointment!"
Just as the servant nodded, he saw that Lily had returned with a bottle of ointment in her hand.
"Gosh, my apprentice knows me best!" Dominic exclaimed with a grin.
"Didn't you say you were strong?" Lily glanced at him before opening up the ointment and putting it on
his back.
"Ouch, ouch! Take it easy!" The old man shook his head, drawing his breath. "Even the best fall down
sometimes. Don't hurt me anymore! By the way, what did you say about everything being too
coincidental?"
"Nothing."
After being interrupted and walking back and forth, she had time to think things through and felt that
she might have been too sensitive.
"I'm a little sensitive because I'm in this field. It just happens that they are related, so I thought it was all
interconnected. Maybe it's just a coincidence," she said as she continued to massage his back.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmDominic thought about what she said. "Wait, wait, wait, what did you say? The more you talk, the more
confused I am. Can you explain further?"
He sat upright with his legs crossed and looked at her solemnly. It was rare for him to be interested in a
topic.
After closing the cap of the ointment, Lily sighed. "What I'm saying is, the experiments in the laboratory,
my friend's inexplicable poisoning, and the plague in Burnwken, do you think they're related?"
The old man fell silent. He put his hands on his knees, and with his crossed- legged stance, he looked
like an old monk in meditation. His brows were knotted, and he fell into deep thought.
A few minutes later, he smacked his lips. "Are these things related?"
Lily nodded quietly. "Whatever. Maybe I'm just overthinking it."
"That might not necessarily be the case. Sometimes, even overthinking may lead to a new idea. It
might not be a big deal now, but who knows what it might lead to?" Dominic spoke in code.
