Chapter 1458
With a glance at him, Rhea smiled.
Her smile was dazzling, just like the gun in her hand. Thinking of how vicious she was just a second
ago, the grin on her face sent shivers down people's spines.
"Have you changed your mind?" She asked softly. Then, the smile on her face dropped. "Too late!"
She straightened up and looked down at him condescendingly. With a cold voice, she ordered, "Lock
him up! Well wait for the boss!"
Professor Thompson, who had been quietly standing at the side, did not realize that Rhea was talking
to him. When her sharp gaze landed on him, he quickly returned to his senses. "Me? Oh, okay...’
With a frown, he stepped forward and tried to hold Austin down. With Austin's size, it was still a bit
difficult, even if he was already injured.
"I'm not talking to you!" Rhea raised her hands and clapped twice.

had a stoic look about them.
They walked over to Austin, and in a blink of an eye, he was held hostage and dragged to the end of
the corridor.
"Hold up!" Rhea suddenly called out again.
She walked over and patted him down. After finding his phone, she signaled for him to be taken away.
"Professor Thompson, I hope you remember that we're all on the same team. I hope that you're wise.
Even if you dedicate yourself to science and ignore everything else, don't forget about your family
members abroad." When she saw him tremble upon hearing the word "family,' she turned around in
satisfaction.
Her red lips puckered up to blow on the gun's muzzle before she walked away nonchalantly as if
nothing had happened.
Austin was dragged all the way to the second floor of the basement, where he was thrown in and
locked behind a metal door.
With a bang, he was trapped. He lay on the cold, wet ground, and the tingling pain in his calf was
starting to go numb.
However, his brain was more awake than ever.
When those people in white coats appeared, he knew that his attempt to escape was a dumb one.
With the gun in Rhea's hand, it was impossible for him to flee the building. He had no idea who or what
was hiding in the dark corners.
He was too naive. How could he take such a gamble?
Even after being in this laboratory for so long, he had no idea there was a second floor to this
underground basement, nor did he know there was a dungeon.
Now that his phone had been taken away, he had lost all hope of contacting the outside world. Would
anyone even realize he was missing? No, no one would!

He was always the lone wolf. He barely even greeted anyone. On top of that, it wasn't uncommon for
him not to go home because of the stage that the experiment was in. No one would be suspicious of
his absence.
He would die if he were stuck here for a week without food and water. He would definitely die.
Austin's head was filled with all sorts of thoughts. Initially, he wondered who Rhea and the supposed
"boss' she mentioned truly were and who they were trying to harm. He was also curious about the real
purpose of the experiment. Later, he felt himself getting dizzy as his eyes began to droop.
His head jerked and hit the wall next to him, making a dull" thump" sound. The pain woke him up
temporarily. He opened his eyes and rubbed his head. He knew his hallucinations were caused by the
blood loss from his leg injury.
No! He couldn't just die here like this! That would mean that he died for no reason. Even if he were
going to die, he would at least have to figure out what was going on and who they were!
Thinking of this, he leaned on the side and forced himself to sit straight before looking around.
