Chapter 595
Over the past few days, Arianna did not have the time to watch Lily’s every move because there was a
bigger problem at home.
No matter how unwilling or repelled she felt, Joseph brought his illegitimate son home and
acknowledged him as part of the Tanner family. She was a step too slow.
After only glancing at him, Arianna went to look for her uncle, Derrick. She understood that her mother
could not stop this from happening anymore. If there were anyone who could stop her lunatic father, it
would be Derrick.
“Uncle Derrick, I heard you haven’t been feeling well recently. I got someone to bring these nutritious
supplements back from overseas for you, and I hope you’ll be in better health after taking them.”
Smiling, she pointed at the things she brought while appearing obedient.

parents come with you?”

“My mom has been busy with the Women’s Federation, but she always worries about tells me to visit
you wherever I’m free. As for my dad…” After a pause, Arianna said reluctantly, “He’s pretty busy too.”
Derrick raised his gaze to look at her, smiling. “He’s busy handling that brother of yours, isn’t he?”
Arianna’s heart almost stopped upon hearing that. She was not surprised by his knowledge of the
matter but rather by his attitude toward it. It was not something unusual for Derrick to know about the
matter. However, he referred to the boy as Arianna’s brother, so did that mean he accepted the boy into
the family?
She pursed her lips while remaining calm. With a smile, she nodded. “Yeah! Uncle Derrick, I didn’t
expect you to know about it. I was afraid my dad was too impatient and had forgotten to inform you
about it.”
“Indeed, he’s impatient.” Derrick agreed but added, “It’s understandable, though.”
“Thank you for being understanding. I thought you would disapprove of it at first.”
Arianna looked down at her hands, her eyes quickly losing their shine. The gears in her mind were
turning as she had to think of a plan should Derrick agree to what her father did.
“Disapprove? This is your father’s private matter. In other words, it’s your family’s matter, so what could
I say as an uncle?”
“That’s not it. You’re still my dad’s eldest brother and the head of the entire Tanner family. Not only that,
you’re the closest person to me too. Our family only became this successful and highly regarded in
Sapphine because of you, Uncle Derrick. That is why we would listen to your opinions, as long as it’s
for the family’s good.”
Arianna observed Derrick’s expression. “Including my dad. He’ll listen to your words too.”

asked, “What do you want me to say then?”
His words made Arianna wave her hands frantically. “No, nothing! I wouldn’t dare to ask you
for anything. It‘s just that I thought you would object to my younger brother being a part of the family.
After all, he was born out of wedlock.” “You mean to say that he‘s an illegitimate chill?”
Derrick probably spoke too much since his cough worsened. Hic look oul a tissue, spat his phlegm out,
and felt much better.
“That‘s not what I mean, Uncle Derek. Regardless if he‘s an illegitimate son or not, he‘s still my father‘s
son and my brother.” Arianna would never admit she was against what her father did.
Even if that was her honest thoughts, she had to pretend to be magnanimous, at least before her father
and the other Tanners. She had to show the others she was accepting of that boy being a part of the
family.
