Chapter 660
Lily could already guess what was inside the envelope without even looking at it. It was a set up all along, and
the contents provided the necessary evidence to support their claims.
However, she decided to play along and opened the envelope. Sitting inside were two sets of reports. One was
the autopsy report of her grandfather’s death which stated that the cause of death was heart failure due to
toxicity. There was also a report detailing the candle she had created for her grandfather, with the contents that
could cause heart failure highlighted in red.
These two reports informed everyone in the room that Lily was the murderer! Many of those present looked
distressed after reading the reports. They turned to gaze at Lily, their eyes filled with horror and disbelief.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThey had all seen her as the granddaughter of Wilfred. After both her parents passed away, Wilfred brought
her back to the Lodge family, and she had grown up in that house. Lily was Wilfred’s flesh and blood. How
could she do this to her own grandfather?
“Uncle Jonathan, Lily is Uncle Wilfred’s granddaughter. She would never do this to her own
grandfather. There must have been...there must be a mistake. Maybe something went wrong in the
testing procedure?” Someone from the extended family could not help but ask.
Henry only sneered coldly, “Why do you think she’d dare be so rude to her own uncle? Don’t be fooled
by her innocent appearance. She’s the type of person that would hold grudges and get her revenge.
“Remember when my father forbade her to study perfumery? She chose to leave the Lodge family and
even went as far as to estrange the family for some outsider. Let me ask you Lily, if you keep insisting
that my family banished me, how exactly are you different from me? You were estranged from the
Lodge family as well. You did not come back for such a long time, but my father died when you chose
to show yourself. Why would toxic materials be inside if it were not for your candles?”
Henry doubled down, “Are you saying you didn’t make this candle? You’re lying! You wanted revenge
because you hated your grandfather! Your grandfather was so kind as to bring you in. If it weren’t for
him, you would’ve ended up in the orphanage! Unfortunately, he couldn’t see that you were just an
ungrateful kid!”
Henry carefully planned every one of his words to frame Lily as the perpetrator, and he even provided
her with the ideal motive. Such dedication!
At first, some of the family members were still skeptical about the evidence, but after listening to
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHenry’s explanation, they were convinced. After all, Lily had left the Lodge family for a while and had
not been back for a long time. Now that they thought about it, it was such a coincidence that something
happened to Wilfred the moment she came back.
Most of them had come around by this point, and one of them had even groaned, "Wilfred had
committed his whole life to raise an ungrateful kid. Such a shame.”
Others started to rattle on, “How could you do this to your own grandfather?!”
“Even if you had some argument with him, you shouldn’t have done this! How could you be so cruel?”
Lily, however, was unfazed by the barrage of abuse directed at her, and she maintained her poise as she
stared unblinkingly at Jonathan and Henry.
Her lips turned upwards into a mocking sneer, “You’re trying to accuse me of a crime just with these reports?
Aren’t you taking this too lightly? Firstly, the credibility of these reports is questionable, and secondly, what
makes you so sure that I was the one who poisoned the candles?”
