Chapter 368
Chapter: 368
Millie dropped the spoon she was holding onto her plate.
Did she hear Mylo right?
“When did | lose that much? | thought | only got drunk last night, didn’t 1?” She couldn't believe she had gone to gamble after getting drunk.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtMylo chuckled. “Oh, so you remember getting wasted last night. | thought you wouldn’t. Anyway, | was just kidding. Even that much amount of money is just a small change for Marcus. I’m still happy, though. | just won a ton of money from him for the first time.”
The more he recounted his victory, the more elated he became. Millie, on the other hand, suddenly did not feel so hungry anymore.
She glanced at the bowl in front of Marcus with a dumbfounded expression on her face. He was eating it with a poker face. Speaking of his face, he was as white as a sheet right now. He must be really disappointed in her.
As she watched him eat, Millie nervously wondered if he was really concerned about the money she had recklessly spent.
As far as she knew, the Thomases were a wealthy family. He should be able to absorb the loss without much trouble.
However, Millie's heart still ached with guilt.
“Millie, you have quite a lot of food on your plate. You should share them with Marcus,” Mylo suggested, nodding at Millie’s plate. Nodding, Millie stabbed a piece of meat with her fork and handed it to Marcus.
“Here’s ssteak. | don’t think | can finish all of them anyway.”
Millie did not know how to describe her current state of mind. She was embarrassed with herself for spending so much of Marcus’ money. It did not help that she was eating steak while he was only having porridge.
With a groan, she declared, “I won't drink anymore.”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmMarcus grabbed the fork and placed it on Millie’s plate. She did not eat last night, so she should eat more now.
“No, thanks. Don’t beat yourself up about it. For the Thomas family, that sum of money is not a big deal.” Millie’s eyes widened. How did he know she was feeling guilty?
Upon spotting a familiar face, Mylo arose, announcing, “I have a friend nearby.
Allowto extend my greetings.”
When Mylo departed, Millie glanced at Marcus, guilt lacing her features.
“Why is your breakfast so minimal?”
