Chapter 1358 I Want Daughters
"Don't worry. I got this. What are you doing, by the way? What are you eating for lunch?"
Eugene asked.
"Halma is here. She's treating me to lunch. I called you for something else. Do you know
Ace hosted a live stream to apologize? The netizens are saying that you were the one
behind his and Jade's divorce. Somebody is manipulating the public opinion…"
Eugene couldn't care less about people spreading rumors about him, nor did he have the
luxury to worry about the rumors. After all, he couldn't do anything to stop the netizens
from slandering him. They just want to judge me from their moral high ground.
As such, he didn't bother to spare his attention. However, Olivia thought otherwise.
Therefore, he comforted her, "They can talk all they want. There's no need to get upset.
However, I can get rid of the rumors if they're troubling you."
Olivia frowned. "It's not about that. I just feel like someone is coming after you."
Eugene was surprised to hear that. "One second. Let me check on that."
He opened the browser on his laptop and saw the netizen's comments. At first, they
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtagreed that Ace deserved it. But later, such opinions no longer showed up in the
comments section. The netizens lamented that Ace was merely doing what he thought
was best for his son.
Other than that, the netizens accused Eugene of being a part of Ace's and Jade's divorce,
and that he forced a father to publicly apologize to his son. Some of them took it even
further by slandering and insulting Eugene.
'Eugene has gone too far! He's basically bullying an honest man!'
'Eugene: Correct! I'm bullying you! So what?'
'To be fair, he just doesn't want to see the alliance marriage between the Baker Family and
the Snow Family. Otherwise, both families' businesses would flourish and pose a threat to
him. Nobody cares whether Nathan is a sacrificial lamb or not. After all, the capitalists rule
the world.'
The comments were rather one-sided, indicating that someone was manipulating public
opinion.
However, that person tried too hard. Doesn't he know he has exposed himself? The
opinions benefit none other than the culprit. Ace is an idiot. Is he that desperate for me to
find him?
Olivia's voice snapped Eugene out of his thoughts. "You know who it is, don't you?"
"Ace has a death wish." Even though he answered in a flat tone, she could tell he was
mad.
She said, "He is your ex-brother-in-law no matter what. Don't fight him head-on. The
netizens would only jump at the chance to point an accusing finger at you if you get
carried away. That's exactly what he wants to see."
Eugene hummed. "Leave it to me. I'll deal with this."
Meanwhile, Olivia felt bad for him. He can never be free of troubles, huh?
She consoled him, "Don't put the pressure on yourself. Take your time. Jewel and Master
are taking care of the boys for us, so don't worry about them. I can't keep up with you if
you think that far ahead."
He smiled. "Sure. I wish you were right here beside me, sweetheart."
She giggled upon hearing that. "And who's going to do all the jobs for you?"

"Nope. You have a daughter to raise. You can do it!"
Eugene chuckled at that. "We should have more daughters."
A shadow fell on Olivia's face. "You're the father of four boys, Gene."
His tone contained a hint of amusement as he teased, "Livvy, I want five girls."
"Goodbye!" Olivia huffed a reply before hanging up on him.
Halma couldn't help but chuckle at the sight. "What's wrong?"
Olivia rolled her eyes. "He asked for four more daughters. What am I? A birth machine?"
Halma burst into laughter. "He must be jealous."
"Jealous of what?"
"Jealous that your sons side with you. He's hoping that his daughters will take his side."
The corner of Olivia's lips twitched. "How can he guarantee that they would be siding with
him?"
Halma smiled. "Fathers and daughters were once lovers in past lives."
Olivia snorted in response. "We aren't having any children without my permission. Four
more girls? He can keep dreaming."
Halma giggled. "There's no use getting mad over this. Come on. Let's go to lunch."
