Chapter 140
Lana blushed shyly. “Sorry to trouble both of you.”
Dylan suppressed a laugh. “No trouble at all. It’s the least we can do.”
Rolling her eyes, Larissa gave Dylan a disapproving glance but ultimately didn’t expose him.
The four of them entered the elevator, and Dylan pressed the buttons for floors 18, 19, and 20 in order.
“What?” Lana turned to look at him, her big eyes filled with confusion. “Why did you press the butons
for three floors?”
Dylan pursed his lips, pretending to be mysterious. “You’ll see later.”
The elevator quickly arrived on the 18th floor. After the doors opened, Dylan stepped out and waved to
Lana “Goodbye, Ms. Seymour.”
“Huh?” Lana’s eyes widened, but before she could get an answer from Dylan, the elevator doors closed
again, Lana turned to look at Larissa

20th.”
“You all Ive in the same building? Lana was surprised. “That’s weird”
She looked at Larissa and then at Kevan. “Aren’t you in a relationship? Why don’t you live together?”
That question stumped Larissa,
However, before she could come up with a reasonable excuse, Kevan asked, “Ms. Seymour, do you
live with your boyfriend?”
He raised his brow slightly as it he had discovered something scandalous.
Lana immediately shook her head. “Oh, no! Lucas and I have strict upbringing, so
With a smirk, Kevan continued, “So, do you mean that Larissa and I don’t have a good upbringing?
“No, no!” Flustered, Lana was on the verge of tears again. “I didn’t mean that! Mr. Rogers, please don’t
misunderstand me!”
With a ding, the elevator arrived on the 19th flaar.
Larissa grabbed Lana’s hand. “Mr. Rogers is just puling your lea. We’re here. Let’s go.”
Just as she took a step forward, Larissa stopped in her tracks and turned to Kevan with a slight smile.
“See you tomorrow.”
Kevan was caught by surprise at her smile.
Larissa had init ally arranged for Lana to sleep in the guest bedroom, but Lana vehemently refused,
tightly holding onto her sister’s arm. “If I sleep alone. I have nightmares!” Lana pouled, her eyes
brimming with tears,
Larissa had no choice but to comply.
To accommodate Lana’s needs, Larissa gave up using the large bathtub in the master bedroom and
instead opted to shower in the guest bathroom.
Lana took an unusually long time in the bath, to the point where Larissa began dozing off. Just as sleep

Larissa’s eyelids were heavy with fatigue, and she made the decision to simply let hersell lall asleep.
However, Just as she was about to drift off. Lana grabbed her arm and shook her with urgency and
vigor.
“Larissa! Where do you keep your hairdryer?”
Mustering up the last ounce of her energy, Larissa replied, “It’s in the cabinet under the sink. Get it
yoursell. I’m too tired to stay awake. After you finish blow-drying your hair, remember to turn off the
lights and go to sleep.”
“Okay,” Lana replied obediently. Relieved, Larissa closed her eyes again.
Not long after, she heard a loud rumbling noise that seemed to be right next to her ear. Struggling to
open her eyes, Larissa saw Lana af her bedside, drying her long, well curls with the hairdryer,
“Why are you drying your hair here?” Larissa’s curl tone hinted at her annoyance. The noise from the
hairdryer was so loud that she couldn’t go back to sleep. In addition, the water dripping from Lana’s
hair was forming a puddle on the ground.
Lana answered innocently. “There’s only one socket here. Where else can I do it if I can’t dry my hair
here??
