Chapter 271
After a busy moming of work, Larissa remained in her office while others from the department headed
to the cafeteria for lunch. She was organizing the reports that Lotus hadn’t had the chance to hand over
to her yet.
Someone knocked on the office door twice, and she looked up to see Edmund standing at the doorway
with a smile on his face.
“Still busy?” he asked,
She immediately set aside the mouse and stood up, exclaiming. “Mr. Rogers!”
“No need to be so formal” he said while his smile deepened. “I’m about the same age as you. You can
call me Edmund.”
His casualness caught her off guard, and she suddenly remembered what Kevan had said.
“Well you’re my superior, so I’ll stick with Mr. Regers’,’ she said, trying to maintain her distance, even
though that title might confuse him

Edmund didn’t insist. “As you wish.”
There was always a hint of indulgence in his tone, which made Larissa uncomfortable. She averted her
gaze and asked in an official tone.” Mr. Rogers, is there anything I can help you with?”
“Yeah,” he replied, his gaze fixed on her face. “I wanted to ask if you have any specific improvement pl
plans. The hotel’s hygiene issues have been creating a buzz online, and everyone is paying a lot of
attention to it. Our occupancy rate has been continucu sly decreasing these days. So. I want you to
coordinate with the public relations department and release a statement to show that we are indeed
sincere about making improvements.”
Larissa always took her work seriously. “Ill find the person in charge of the public relations department
this attemoon.”
“I hope we can release the statement this afternoon, so let’s discuss it over lunch. Edmund decided on
his own that they would have
lunch together.
She didn’t have the means to refuse, so she temporanly saved the unfinished documents and left the
office with him.
Instead of going to the employee cafeteria, he reserved a private room in the hotel’s restaurant. She
recognized the person in charge of the public relations department at a glance-it happened to be one of
the two people who had followed Edmund into the meeting room in the morning. Previously, she had
thought they were his assistants.
Edmund briefly introduced them and then focused on ordering dishes, not participating in their
conversation.
Larissa explained her improvement plans to the other person, who diligently took notes and discussed
the external public relations Strategy with her.
The dishes arrived quickly, and Edmund interrupted them, saying. “Let’s eat list” As he spoke, he
picked up a chicken leg and put it into

her bow.
That uncomfortable feeling resurfaced, and she forced a smile and thanked him. She lock a bite of the
chicken leg and found it delicious. Throughout the mea, he served her several times, ignoring her
protests.
The person from the public relations department seemed to ignore their Interaction and quietly focused
on eating, as if they were invisible.
Midway through the meal, he received a phone call and quickly excused himsell say ra ‘Sorry, I have
something to attend to. Mr. Rogers, Ms. Seymour, please enjoy your meal. He then left, leaving the two
of them behind. The air was filled with an awkward almosphere, which made Larissa leel uncomfortable
all over her body-even her hair lelt out of place.
She set down her utensils and said, “Thanks for the meal. It’s getting late, and I should get back to
work.”
He didn’t stop her, Instead, he said, “Well, I’m lull ton, Let’s go then.” He stood up alongside her.
They walked side by side in the hotel attracting allen llon from onlookers as an exceptionally eye-
catching pair of attractive individuals. Quite a few people recognized them on the way, and alter they
passed, they gathered to discuss the nature of their relationship.
