Chapter 707 Save Me! I Don’t Want to Die
Slevin's head snapped up as though he noticed Nyla's behavior was off. He immediately spotted her
scrambling toward the sea.
"What are you doing, Nyla?"
Despite shouting after her, his words did not make her stop at all. Her feet merely faltered for one brief
second before she continued on.
"Nyla!"
Finally, she stopped running.
She turned around to shoot him a bleak smile as her dress danced in the wind. She looked as delicate
and flimsy as a thin piece of paper.
"Brother... No. Slevin Damazio, you have been the only person in my life. Now that you don't want me,
what point is there in living?" she said.
There was a conflicted look in his eyes. He was at a loss for words.
"Thank you for being so nice to me throughout the years. I don't need it anymore, though."
She then darted to the ocean in a frenzied sprint. When he saw that the rising tide and crashing waves
were about to swallow her whole, his face twisted in shock.
He ran as fast as he could to try to drag her out of the ocean, but the fierce waves eventually pushed
him back to the shore.
"Stop, Nyla! If you keep going, you'll die!"
Nyla did not stop and continued to walk forward. By now, the water level was as high as her knees.
"You don't need to save me. Go back," she responded. Still, her strides shortened noticeably, and she
walked slower.

was so close to her, yet they were separated by rolling waves.
A smug smile spread across her lips.
"I told you. You came to save me because you can't bear to see me die, right?"
"Come back already! The tide is rising!" he roared back at her.
It did not seem like that was a satisfactory reply for her, however. She shook her head and put on a
look of fragility.
"You don't want me anymore..."
He clenched his jaw and eventually spat out, "When did you hear me say that? As long as you're
willing, you will forever be my sister!"
That made her freeze.
Hope shone on her face once more, and she tried to get back to shore. However, no matter how hard
she tried, she would always be pushed back by the waves.
It was only then that she realized she had gotten herself stuck between a rock and a hard place. The
smug smile on her face instantly vanished, replaced by panic.
"Help me, Slevin! I can't get back!"
She reached out to grab something to pull herself back to the shore, but there was nothing within
reach.
Slevin unsteadily stumbled over to her.
When Elspeth saw that the two of them were about to be dragged further into the ocean by the waves,
she shouted in helplessness, "Slevin, you can still turn back. Come back or you'll be dragged out by the
waves as well!"
"Save me, Slevin! Help! I don't want to die! I don't want to be dragged out into the waters!" Nyla
shrieked.
By now, she had sunk below the seawater. With every surge of water crashing over her head, her
words would be cut off.
"Help—" She was completely overwhelmed. Why did I run over to somewhere with deep waters? I had
only meant to frighten him. Why am I risking my life?
"Please, Slevin! I'm begging you! Save me!"
No one could bear to do nothing when such miserable cries echoed through the air.
He had planned to continue his way over to her but suddenly found his arm captured in a tight grip.
Whirling around, he found Elspeth standing there with a stern look on her face.
"I know you're likely a good swimmer, but you cannot keep going toward her."
As she spoke, she dragged him toward the shore. He stared out into the distance in hesitation before
finally pulling his phone out with gritted teeth.
"I'll call the police right now!" he exclaimed.
The rescue team said they would be there in five minutes. Unfortunately, Nyla was nowhere to be
found by the time they arrived.
"I killed her..." He fell to his knees with his face stuck in a forlorn expression.
"This has nothing to do with you." She knelt down and patted him on the shoulder in comfort. "She did
this out of her own will. Could you actually have stopped her when she was intent on killing herself?"
She was not an evil woman. However, she was unable to be understanding when someone like Nyla
committed self-harm.
Furthermore, Nyla had only done that to draw more attention to herself. She also had no spatial
awareness and did not realize just how dangerous and deep her spot was. If Slevin had forcefully tried
to save her, both would be dead by now.

"She was my sister. She only did that because I aggravated her."
He ducked his head down. While it had been six years, and all the love between them had dulled and
faded away, Nyla was still the little girl he brought home. He was responsible as well for how badly she
turned out and all she had done.
"It had nothing to do with it. It was not a big issue." Elspeth sighed. "Alright. Stay here for now and wait
for the rescue team to report back. Damian is quite badly hurt. I have to send him to the hospital."
He glanced up at her before looking back down at the ground. "Go."
She did not linger and hover around him. Instead, she promptly turned around, pulled Damian into her
arms from the bench behind her, and carried him away.
Since she was in a rush, she did not drive and had forgotten to borrow the car from Slevin.
Damian was starting to burn up while in her arms, filling her with worry. However, there were not many
cars that drove along this path. She waited and waited, but no cars were seen.
Just as she was at her wit's end, a car sped over and screeched to a stop beside her. The driver
honked at her.
"Get in, Miss Elspeth."
She looked up to find Harper sitting in the car with a pair of sunglasses perched on his nose. Her eyes
lit up. "Why are you here, Harper?"
"Slevin called me just now. He said you're here and that I should hurry over."
"Slevin?" she asked, taken aback.
He took off his sunglasses and hummed. "I don't know what tricks he has up his sleeves but thank
goodness he wasn't lying. You really are here. Get in. What happened?"
"Nothing much. Damian is injured, though. I have to take him to the hospital. Can you take me to
Callum's hospital?"
It was only then that Harper noticed Damian's injuries. In a worry-laced tone, he exclaimed, "Get in the
car, then! We cannot delay any longer!"
