Chapter 735 Side Story: Efforts in Pursuing Her 17
Yelena never expected that Hank could endure not reaching out to her for such a long time. Before, no
matter how she resisted, Hank would at least ask her once a day. But now, a whole week had passed
without a single word from Hank. Without his interruptions, Yelena surprisingly found herself feeling a
bit bored and down.
Jesus, what are you thinking? Yelena vigorously shook her head, trying to shake off these absurd
thoughts.
He's not reaching out to me, but it's good because it's peaceful. Why bother thinking about him? Yelena
was disgusted by her own behavior. When Hank used to relentlessly reach out to her, she felt nothing,
and now that he wasn't, she felt down.
With that in mind, Yelena struggled through several takes during filming, leaving the director utterly
baffled.
"Yelena, what's going on with you? You've never been this off your game before. What's up today?"
Yelena scratched her head, somewhat helpless. "I'm just not feeling my best today. Maybe I can try
again."
Seeing her state, Kyle Palmer, who was nearby, handed her a cup of warm water with a smile. "It's
alright, we've shot quite a few scenes already. There's no need to rush. Take a break, have some
water, and get back to filming when you're ready."
Kyle had always been so gentle, and Yelena didn't pay it much mind. She took the water and had a sip.

However, as soon as the water went down her throat, her face suddenly changed.
Out of nowhere, a sharp pain shot through her lower abdomen. Yelena doubled over in pain, clutching
her stomach, her face contorted in agony. "Did you put something in the water? Did you poison me?"
Kyle was taken aback by her sudden change in demeanor. He went pale, his face drained of color. "No,
I just got this water from the dispenser. How could there be anything wrong with it?"
After all, even if he wanted to poison her, he wouldn't dare be so blatant about it. Moreover, they had
no grudges or disputes, so he had no reason to harm her.
Yelena's mind raced through these thoughts in an instant, but the pain in her belly showed no signs of
abating. Suddenly, her face froze.
Kyle thought something serious was happening to Yelena. He quickly lifted her up in his arms. "Never
mind everything else. I'll take you to the hospital first."
Suddenly being lifted off the ground, Yelena screamed in panic, "No, no, no, put me down! I know
what's wrong! I don't need to go to the hospital!"
"Then what's going on with you?" Kyle saw that Yelena's face was still pale, and her forehead was
covered in a layer of cold sweat. Even her lips were turning white. It didn't look like she was acting.
"It's that time of the month..." Yelena laughed awkwardly.
Kyle chuckled awkwardly as well. Then, he gently lowered her back down to the ground. Though they
had figured out the cause of the problem, Kyle was still concerned. He asked, "Do you need me to get
you something?"
Kyle had always been very considerate, and he knew exactly what Yelena needed.
Yelena wanted to refuse and have her assistant go get something, but then she realized her assistant
was nowhere to be seen. So, with no other choice, she let Kyle help her.
After a while, Kyle returned, not only with a bag but also with a cup of hot water in his hand. The water
was a deep brown color.
He placed the bag on the table and handed her the cup of warm water, saying, "Go ahead and drink
this. I added some brown sugar into it just now."
Yelena was momentarily unsure how to thank him, so she nodded and began sipping the warm water.
After finishing, she quickly grabbed a sanitary pad and headed into the bathroom, where she fiddled
around for a while before emerging. However, her face showed a hint of discomfort.
"What's wrong? Did something happen?" Kyle asked, noticing her demeanor.
Yelena nervously tugged at her clothes. "It's nothing, just that I stained this outfit. I might need to get
another one like it before we can continue shooting."
Understanding her situation, the director reassured her, "No worries, take a good rest. If you're not
feeling well these next few days, we can delay the shoot a bit and resume later."
While the director was strict about filming, he still valued the actors' well-being. Kyle chimed in, nodding
in agreement. "The director is right. In the next scene, we both need to be in the water, and since
you're not feeling well now, take a rest for a while."
Yelena nodded and decided to take a cab home. However, as soon as she arrived home, she received
a text message. She recognized the number immediately, and with a hopeful heart, she opened the

'If you're not busy, could you please return the things I gave you before?'
Yelena curled her lips, feeling a mixture of emotions. Hank giving up their relationship was something
she had considered, but she never expected it to happen so suddenly, catching her off guard. Although
she had often felt annoyed by his constant presence before, facing this moment now, she couldn't help
but feel a profound reluctance.
Holding her phone, Yelena hesitated to reply to the message. She found herself unable to see clearly,
and it wasn't until her tears wet the screen that she realized she had started crying.
What am I crying for? How embarrassing! Isn't this the outcome I had hoped for? He has found the
person he wants and is letting go of our relationship.
"Yelena, can you toughen up a bit? Why cry? No crying allowed!" Yelena mumbled to herself and wiped
away her tears with determination. She grabbed a tissue and wiped the phone screen vigorously.
Then, she calmly typed out a single word. 'Okay.'
Upon seeing her response, the other side quickly replied with a simple "Thank you."
Thank you? For what? It felt so distant. Yelena didn't understand why, but reading those words only
made her cry even harder.
She stood up abruptly and began swiftly packing up everything in the room related to him. Even with a
cardboard box, she struggled to fit all the belongings and ended up filling three large boxes to the brim.
There. All these things are related to him.
While tidying up, Yelena silently ridiculed him in her mind. What a stingy man he is, asking for
everything back after the breakup, but I don't lack anything, so I'm returning them.
Hank, if that's how it is, let's never contact each other again.
